FlyTampa Kai Tak vs 9dragons Kai Tak

Post by exTrem » Fri Jul 04, 2008 9:21 am

Hi all !

Sofar I'd used the 9Dragons Kai Tak with it's whole territory around Hong Kong, and I'd like to ask you guys if I need to delete all files of 9dragons to use your new product or no. I mean, does your new Kai Tak contain the territpry of Hong Kong city around the airport or just the airport beacause the 9dragons product had a big territory and if you don't have terrirtoy like that I'd use them together if pissoble. Pls reply Cheers !

I might as well jump in on this as I am sure it will be asked many times. In its current state 9Dragons is not compatible to work with FlyTampa Hong Kong at the same time.

You will have to delete 9Dragons, not just 'un-check' the FS9 Scenery config file but literally have to delete it. That is because we have several files that would still conflict with FT.

If you have 9Dv2 un-installing is very easy. Just use the auto-uninstaller. If you are still using 9Dv1 you will have to manually uninstall per the instructions found in the 9Dragons Pilot's Guide V2.

Congratulations to Martin, George and your whole team for producing such a wonderful tribute to one of the most beloved airports!

To add: The Photoscenery for the HK area is larger in Clutch's 9Dragons scenery. Our Fly-KaiTak does for example not extend to Lantau island like 9Dragons' does.

That said, FS9 cannot render 2 Photosceneries covering the same piece of land at the same time.

It will likely be possible to replace Fly-KaiTak's with 9Dragons Photoscenery, but we have not done any work & tests with this yet. At this point I cannot promise it will work, it is possible that for example building positions won't match exactly and so on.
