Time for Change People: whats going on and what we should...
... really be focusing about as the year comes to a close.
http://forum.fscloud9.it/viewtopic.php? ... c&start=15 -- And some of you probably thought FlyTampa foroums were rude...
Their problem is that they are just lazy... What a shame.
They are liers, I anticipated the release of their HKG scenery for 2 years. 2 bloody years.
When you scroll down, you can see that HKG is being developed by another scenery company. I can't wait if it is Flytampa! I recently read a post of Martin's explaining how he and George are taking their time with scenery development. I believe that it is also part of their jobs as well. Bear in mind; the combination of the two must be overwhelming.
I am also waiting for the release of fsdreamteam's ORD scenery. They are clearly winners within scenery development because they develop sceneries at a relitavely moderate pace AND they provide daily (or almost daily) updates on the status of the projects they are working on. I think that we (the general simming public) are afraid of losing the quality developers that produce sceneries. We should become more focused on the status of the companies that create projects rather than the projects themselves. Developers are trying their best to develop sceneries for all simmers out there. For 2008, I, like many others here would like to stop seeing the
"Could you guys do this..."
and
"This would be really nice..."
I and many others around here dont give a damn about what you all want, even though its just "a mini 3000 foot runway" doesn't mean that it wont take time from other things... some of you guys whine like babies! SHUT UP! At first, The forums were great for informational purposes regarding sceneries, now It's more like people whining and complaining about the slowness of updates and other shit and... SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!
... please, lets cut back on the questions and namecalling all that other shit for 2008, and return these forums to their helpful, informational, and informative state.

While i agree that some people might bash other developers a a bit too much at certain times, i think you just need to accept and realize the fact that people are different.
Also regarding the HKG scenery in development by another team in the thread you're linking to: That's the old Kai Tak airport being made by the 9Dragons team and will be released as freeware. There are currently no developers out there that's creating the new Hong Kong Airport (at least not that i know of).
I also waited and hoped for the Hong Kong project at Cloud9 to be finished, but things don't always go as planned. I was very disappointed to learn that it wouldn't be finished, but it's not the end of the world

Your problem is that you don't what to realize they are NOT.skydvdan wrote:Good post but you do realize that alot of the people at FSdreamteam are the same people that are at Cloud9, right?
The post linked about HKG scenery and cited as an example of rude replies from Cloud9, only contains remarks coming from Cloud9's *owner*, Alberto Sangalli. And no, last time I've checked, we don't have him on FsDreamTeam.
We thought having explained quite clearly the relationship between FsDreamTeam and Cloud9 yet your seem to have problem grasping it:
Cloud9 it's my customer, because they pay me to use the sales sytem I have designed. Easy enough ?
The second mistake you keep making is assuming that, since one can find lots of my replies to customer's needs on Cloud9's forum, I must be part of Cloud9 in some way or having some interest with it.
Wrong. Since Cloud9 is paying me for the use of the sales system, I provide in exchange for that support to end users, since most of the technical question are related to that anyway.
Since, as we explained (many times already) that module doesn't simply do sales and trials, but a lot more, helping scenery with features and capabilities, helping framerates (for example, we DON'T suffer lack of LOD in FSX SP2 thanks to that...we still enjoy fully working LODs in SP2 in our sceneries), it's quite obvious that I'm able to offer support even beyond the simple selling system, and some people might have mistakenly associated my and my company with Cloud9, when it's not the case.
Is that business relationship to difficult to understand ? I have exactly the same relationship with Aerosoft, but since they used my sales system for a single product, it maybe got somewhat unnoticed and, since they have a better and larger support team, my help isn't required as much, but if you make a search, you'll find some of my replies on that forum as well. Does that makes me the same thing as Aerosoft ? I don't think so.
As I've already explained (even here), my company is far older than Cloud9 (just about 10 years more. It's enough for you ? ), has always been doing flight sim developement, for many publishers, and Cloud9 it's just one of them. FsDreamTeam and Virtuali, yes, they ARE the same thing.
Also, we have ONE scenery developer, that's a former Cloud9 employee. Former, because he's not with Cloud9 since the summer of 2006.

Re: Time for Change People: whats going on and what we shoul
I know how many people you have from cloud9. You've stated it elsewhere. But there was another person that was associated with C9 that was also usually very condesending that helped Cloud9 get the reputation that they did. You can explain how your company is broken down all you want but that doesn't change the facts. Since you usually seem to have a problem understanding what I'm getting at, and since I'm tired of dancing around it, I'll spell it out this time... THE PROBLEM IS YOU.virtuali wrote:Your problem is that you don't what to realize they are NOT.skydvdan wrote:Good post but you do realize that alot of the people at FSdreamteam are the same people that are at Cloud9, right?

Re: Time for Change People: whats going on and what we shoul
Then, I guess, every developer must then have "someone" ruining his own reputation and the forum's atmosphere, WITHOUT EVEN REALIZING IT, even thinking of having been of some help...skydvdan wrote:Since you usually seem to have a problem understanding what I'm getting at, and since I'm tired of dancing around it, I'll spell it out this time... Of course, since you already demonstrated how smart you are, I will not need to specify who is this, in Flytampa's case...
A very simple question. Do you see any of the following:
bitching
shouting
whining
name-calling
attacking other developers
On our forum ?
If I had one of my users attacking FlyTampa or ANY other developer, for ANY reason, even if he's right, on MY forum, I would have it immediately removed. And no, I haven't done it yet, and I hope I wouldn't have to do it in the future, nor to give my users any reason to complain in the first place.
Re: Time for Change People: whats going on and what we shoul
I wouldn't know since I don't go to your forum. But it is new as well. You have always tried to play the I'm smarter than you card with users and that's part of the reason that people don't like you. I don't play that card. Do I even need to bring up the post at C9 about why FS9 wasn't going to be developed anymore because you and your associates had these magical sales numbers that we, the users, could never be smart enough to understand. In the end you ARE developing for FS9 again. Your excuse, the service packs made the difference. But part of it was that it was so inferior to FSX. Now who feels dumb, not me? I was one of the people trying to tell you that dropping FS9 was a bad idea and you basically told me that I didn't have a clue what I was talking about. So now we're where we are now.virtuali wrote:Then, I guess, every developer must then have "someone" ruining his own reputation and the forum's atmosphere, WITHOUT EVEN REALIZING IT, even thinking of having been of some help...skydvdan wrote:Since you usually seem to have a problem understanding what I'm getting at, and since I'm tired of dancing around it, I'll spell it out this time... That's the beauty of free speech. That's why Avsim seems to be having issues lately as well. Removing free thought and opinions. Fear not. The almighty master admin moderator has arrived .
Not a charming thread for sure, some informative content nevertheless.
The OP didn't get moderated because while "liar & lazy" isn't nice, in the same post he pimps FSDreamteam's KORD release. Shutups in CAPS aren't nice either, but were not directed at anybody in particular. SkyDan's reply I could already read before he typed it. Predicable, informative but not necessarily offensive. Like some older posts about ImagineSim being a split-off from Simflyers. Words of moderation from WEAJHD & informative replies from Virtuali.
In essence, not a single post by itself is delete material for me. You guys are all way too skilled talkers to get moderated by my criteria. Call each other names directly and the nuke button will be pressed I promise.

LOL. Don't worry about me Martin, I'm out of this conversation. I've said my part and gotten off my chest what I needed. Predictable, yes because I feel like I've had this discussion with Umberto so many times already in the past. So, bottom line, I like his sceneries but I don't like his activation system, his way with customers or flip-flopping ways of doing business. In the end we the customers were right about FS9 not being dead or a waste of time to develop for but knowing what I know about Umberto we'll never get the appology that we deserve. Instead we'll continue to get what we always get from him... "Well, see what had happened was... (sp1, sp2, people not keeping up with the current technology, (insert your excuse here)" So with that, I'm done (unless he makes fun of my mom, then it's on girlfriend).martin[flytampa] wrote:Fear not. Ahhhh... guys? Dont kill me too, but, if I can say.. some of the things on here are for mature audience, and I have a 13year old son who can read this forum and enjoy flightsimming as well.. For the kindness of others and for ethical reasons, can we Pppplllleeeeaaasseee not say the "F" words and so on... if you feel a certain way about someone and you want to say something directly to them, maybe send them a PM or something... Does anyone disagree...?

To be honest I understand where you're coming from but this is an adult forum. That's not to say that children aren't welcome but adults will be adults. When I have written posts in the past I write what is on my mind and I never think, gee I wonder who is reading this. I'm a parent as well, and as a parent it's my responsibility to monitor where my children go on the internet and what they are exposed to on the net. I'm not trying to be a jerk but this is my personal opinion and I'm sure others share my view. I can maybe tone down some of my posts but we like to have fun here. There's a post on this very forum where we joke about some of the features of the next version of this simulator that would make you throw your son's computer out the window. So remember that there are probably more adults here than children. Again, not trying to be a jerk but just throwing out my view of things, right or wrong.nchan104 wrote:Ahhhh... guys?
