Post by scottb613 » Wed Aug 01, 2007 8:03 am

Great work guys...

Quick question - those moutains in front of 9 are pretty darn close... What is the proper departure procdure ??? Do the planes hang a hard right to avoid the hills after takeoff ???

Thanks,
Scott

Immediate right turn, heading 140 is mandatory for liner.

I, once, made a touch and go on 09 with a (small) Cessna 150 and I turned left heading Grand-Case. I assume VFR and small GA are allowed right turn after take off.

See the take off from the cockpit I shoot two years ago : http://20-100-video.blogspot.com/2006/0 ... ation.html

the mountains are only 2 miles from the end of the runway so what american and us air does is they eather take a right or they usually pick up speed and go right over the mountains. what corsair and air france and klm and aom does is they just take a right. :D :D :D :D
