Another question for SWA Pilot?

Post by hogans » Sat Jan 07, 2006 10:15 am

SWA Pilot,
KMDW does not have any ILS, except for VORs and DMEs, which I am really not that familiar with.

I know how to use the approach function when flying on Auto pilot while using an ILS with a glideslope, but how do you use the Approach function when flying using the VORs and DMEs?

Any help will be appreciated, this is all greek to some of us?

Thanks, Hogans.

KMDW has 3 ILS's, 4R, 31C and 13C. VOR's are flown on LOC with V/S used for step downs. Also could be hand flown.

On a related note, what is the typical procedure (from the SWA Pilot's POV) for flying the 31C, circle to land 22L approach?

Thanks for any insight on this.
