XP, I tried Budapest FSX, still unflyable due to poor fps, and now it has a bleed through issue with the runway. I've also had a few ctd's with sp1, I think fsx is now flyable, but it still sucks._Dre_ wrote:Hey Paavo are you running a vista or XP machine?
Service pack 1 for FSX now avaiable
ARe you just crying now? Everyone knows that FSX is the best incarnation of the flightsim franchise yet. This service pack was unnecessary. My performance was already through the roof at 10-15 fps. What else do you people want...blood?paavo wrote:XP, I tried Budapest FSX, still unflyable due to poor fps, and now it has a bleed through issue with the runway. Forgot about my blurry issue, I have to turn the water all the way down to get everything else to stay in focus. The ctd's have driven me back to fs9.skydvdan wrote:ARe you just crying now? More ctd's?paavo wrote:Forgot about my blurry issue, I have to turn the water all the way down to get everything else to stay in focus. paavo wrote:The ctd's seem to be plane related, the ultralight loads and flys fine, to much trouble for fsx, I'll mess with it later.
Did you install on a clean FSX load?
Phil Taylor's blog states this is how you should install SP1...
I had CTD's also...However, once I installed on a fresh FSX installation, no problems whatsoever

Fresh fsx install, then sp1.Kofi wrote:paavo wrote:The ctd's seem to be plane related, the ultralight loads and flys fine, to much trouble for fsx, I'll mess with it later.

This is gay. I have an unmodded FSX install and the first thing I get on sp1 install is ctd.paavo wrote:Fresh fsx install, then sp1.Kofi wrote:paavo wrote:The ctd's seem to be plane related, the ultralight loads and flys fine, to much trouble for fsx, I'll mess with it later.

Ported full UT package (previously) into FSX, applied SP1 this afternoon and still have perfectly smooth framerates in Vista.Jacek wrote:Well, so far the feedback is really positive but then again everyone seemed to test the SP1 with default birds, weather and scenery.skydvdan wrote: Keep me updated. That's great, but that's only a small fraction of up and coming add-ons. Let's wait and see when the new ASX+X Graphics, new airport sceneries, new birds from PMDG, LVLD or FeelThere come out. Then we'll have the true performance capability of this thing.sddjd wrote:

Listen, all I'm saying is that the people at Avsim boards are nearly kissing ACES' a$$ for releasing this SP1 after testing it mostly in the default settings. It's way too early yet to make any positive statements. You know, that's great there's a performance boost, don't get me wrong as I'm also planning on eventually making the switch and upgrading my system, as I'm as much of FS enthusiast as any of you out there.
Everyone knows that this release was way too early, even this SP1 shows that the publisher pushed ACES heavily for the October 06 release. This is pretty much ridiculous and scandalous to say the least.
Keep your cool guys, if the community feedback with the upcoming add-ons will be positive, we'll all move forward to FSX.
Well stated Jaeck. I have nothing to add since you seem to be reading my mind.Jacek wrote:That's great, but that's only a small fraction of up and coming add-ons. Well said, plus think about this, a huge performance gain like sp1 gives means that something was very wrong with the product. The fanboys think Aces are miracle workers for getting so much fps in sp1, but the reality is fsx is a highly flawed product.Jacek wrote:That's great, but that's only a small fraction of up and coming add-ons. It has taken seven months to get to this rather average situation. FSX cannot cope with complex addons, even with this patch!Jacek wrote:The Avsim fanboys have a lot to answer forsddjd wrote: Listen, all I'm saying is that the people at Avsim boards are nearly kissing ACES' a$$ for releasing this SP1 after testing it mostly in the default settings.
