JET BLAST / WAKE

Post by BLAZER » Sun Apr 15, 2007 1:04 am

Hello...Another great scenery addon by FLY TAMPA. Really like the detail except i cannot see the wakes behind the ships or when I rev up the engines at end of runway 9 there is no jet blast stirring up the sand. The files are all in the EFFECTS FOLDER. I have my sliders set high and have FS9. Anyway a great addon...Off the topic here..I send an email to Fly TAMPA for a new link for KMIA...received link 10 minutes after requesting it.. Thanks

About the effects. The wake effect only starts to show after the ships moved a certain distance (not that long). You watched them go for a while and the wakes never show?

Also: Do you see waves at Maho beach and in case you bought the complete package do you see smoke coming out the chimney of the large green building before the hill? Asking this to figure out whatever just some effects aren't showing or all of them.

I don't have that jet blast and that smoke coming out the chimney!
The waves and wake effects are there.

EDIT: Ok I can see the jet blast now. Don't know what caused it! :|

I don't have that jet blast and that smoke coming out the chimney on St Maarten but I can see the waves and wake effects. Is there a way to troubleshoot to find out why the heat blurr and jet blast are not working on my scenery?

Other than that, had to buy this scenery even thought I already had France VFR St Maarten...This one is very nice.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Regards,

David

In the stand-alone you would have only the 3 effect/fx files as the ai-ship wakes aren't needed.

Perhaps the it is just a matter of finding the sweet-spot that triggers the beach sand effect. Attached a screenshot showing the exact location. Only when the ref-point of the aircraft (the red + in top down view) is on this spot the effects gets triggered. It doesn't need to be centimeter exact, has a few perhaps 2-3 meter radius in which it should work.

JET BLAST

Post by BLAZER » Sun Apr 15, 2007 1:59 pm

Hi Martin..Thanks again for the response..Yep..that did it..found the positioning on the runway and whoaa...sand blowing on the beach..These sceneries are getting to realistic because at first i thought i was too far away from the beach for the jet blast to affect the sand so I was taxing closer to end of the runway.hahahA..Thanks for your help...TH

Glad to hear.

Trigger point is moved beyond the threshold to avoid some larger planes from triggering it too early... like while making the turn onto the runway.

So what about the smoke coming from the chimney?
I still don't see it.
I have a file called flytampa_barth_smoke.fx in my effects folder!
