Seen the FSX commercial?

I am not going to FSX until Vista/DX10 is out. Try flying into Cloud 9's MCO with PMDG's 744 in FSX, lemme know how that works out for ya!

I hope FT's next release works with FS9. I and many others are sticking with FS9 probably until mid 07. Just check the avsim forums.

I know there's no point, but I enjoy winding up the cheerleaders.
Some people will defend FSX so viciously I'm baffled to what drives them.

Some of them are good friends with the developers

. It's quite incredible how they defend switching off Autogen, and all of the FX that makes FSX what it is!!!

Some people have been looking forward to FSX for over a year. When it turns out to be a fps hog they go into denial .....

It'll only get worst as more people buy the product.
I feel really sorry for the casual customers. Average systems from Bestbuy, Stapples etc, are going to SUX running FSX

There is going to be quite a reaction on Tuesday night

Only Bush Flyers cruising above the willderness seem to be raving about it sofar.

... and the DX10-ers, who are going to be disappointed in due course .....

yeah, we'll probabl have to go through 10 pages of "I HATE FSX!" posts before you can get to any posts of consequence. BTW, I saw an FSX ONLY Cloud9 Orlando scnery that is already in the works. Any word yet on what airports you guys will be working up for FSX? KPHX perhaps? The default KPHX looks exactly like a freeware download from FS9.

Refreshing to see actual discussion of the FSX situation here rather than mindless cheerleading as on other forums.
Looked around this weekend and found the standard version of FSX at a WalMart, but passed on it. Am waiting for the deluxe version to appear somewhere Tuesday, maybe I'll make the run up to Appleton to pick it up at CC or BB.
I'm interested to see how it performs (or doesn't), and reinforce my strategy of using FS9 as primary sim while the tweaks and patches appear for FSX. Heheh.

Anyone else check out the preview screenshots from MyTraffic X? (Link on Avsim)...You'd think they'd at least have the presence of mind to hit ctrl+z a few times to hide the "5.5 FPS (locked at 10FPS)" in their shots...

You it's definately more polished. Though people say the performance is better I can't say I see it. There are a ton of tweaks showing up at various sites that will help some.

I have just tried the 2nd demo, and although there is some substantial performance hit, I do think it looks really good.

I can just imagine what this sim will look like, once people start tweaking. I know my FS9 looks nothing like the default one from water to clouds, to ground textures... I see nothing in my FS9 which is "out of the box".

So to see the great looking "out of the box scenery" in FSX, indicate some great addons/tweaks in the future.
I have not seen anything outside ST. Marteen though so I cannot speak about that, but the potentials are there. So I am sorry many of you are so disapointed, but I remember people reacting the exact same way to FS9, and now everyone refuse to let go of their FS9
