Why America

Post by Arlberg2006 » Sun Aug 06, 2006 3:17 pm

Why are there so many airports in America, compared to only 2 other countries, so can you please have some creativity?

True, i would like to see CYQM, CYYZ, EGLL, LFPG, VHHH, and others, but it all depends on demand, and most people seem to want airports in the US, and it looks like FlyTampa is based in the US also, so i also wonder why...

there are plenty of other developers that have made airports in Europe.

It isn't a lack of creativity. The developers create which airports they want to- and that has nothing to do with political boundaries.
Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing some developer somewhere do some high-quality airports for Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. I love flying in all of those places.
Imagine, for example, is making their next airport Nassau, in the Bahamas. A great choice- the caribbean offers so many fun places to fly.
But in the end, the developers will make what they are interested in...

I'm sure access to airports plays a role in what they do, easier to get source material when it's closer to home.

American airports also may sell better. And I would doubt that they would choose to do an airport another developer has done.

FlyTampa has tested the waters with Vienna and Dubai, and although I don't have any information on how well they've done in comparison with the US airports, I'm guessing future decisions will be based on economy rather than geography. 8)

The decision on what is designed is whatever Martin feels like doing inrregardless of location on the planet..thats how he always does his stuff. Like the old cliche' goes, its his sandbox and all the sand in it belongs to him...we just get invited every now and then.

Please! we're not talking about freeware here. It's true he may decide what to build and when, but "ENVITED TO HIS SANDBOX"!, we pay for that sand and no one is inviting anyone for free here.

Exactly! But at this stage, I'm holding off on any more purchases until FSX comes out. Want to make sure that what I have now will work with FSX.

I'm sure a new rig will be in order to run FSX, but I was talking more about all the paywares we've bought. Will it work or not? That will be the question I will be looking for when the time comes.

Right now, FSX alone doesn't work too good to say the least.
