Misaligned glideslope

Post by westbros » Fri May 13, 2022 5:22 am

Hi. I installed Dubai for the first time around a week ago. I use P3D v4.5. My first flight had me landing on 30L. The aircraft (FSLabs A321) picked up the localiser and glideslope with no difficulty. However when descending on the glideslope I could clearly see that I was high, and the PAPIs had 4 white lights. I disconnected from the autopilot around 3 nm from landing and tried to follow the GS. When I crossed the threshold I was still very high indeed. The GS seems to be located at least halfway down the runway, if not even further down the runway. I have now installed the P3Dv4 compatibility update (which incidentally does not appear on Simmarket....) and tested again in a GA aircraft. Still the same problem, and in fact I taxied to the end of 30L to try to find where the GS was located, and even at the far end (i.e. the threshold of 12R) the GS was still showing above me - so goodness knows where it is actually located!

I haven't had a chance to check any of the other runways. Please would you advise whether this is a known problem. A Google search did bring up a forum thread from 2005 (for FS2004!!) for exactly the same problem, and there was a suggestion that this was to do with the AFCAD. Surely this problem would have been fixed since then?!! I have no other previous add-on sceneries for Dubai. The only other add-on airport I have in the vicinity is Simbreeze Abu Dhabi. Please could you advise how to fix this, as landing on the ILS on 30L is more or less impossible. Thank you.

Hi again. Problem solved. A quick search on Simple Airport Scanner revealed a conflicting AFCAD bgl from Just Flight's Traffic Global. Renamed that file and now the ILS works perfectly and is correctly aligned.
