I have Vector but only run highway, primary and secondary roads with just bridges checked on highways and primary. Everything else unchecked. Also no power lines or frozen surface, both unchecked. Also uncheck road and railway skirting under openLC Eur.

First flight into EHAM - ended up with OOM.

P3D v3.4 here, flight originated at UK2000 EGLL. FTX Global/Vector/OpenLC EU/AS16/ASCA installed. Settings are more or less in the medium range, and I have not had a single OOM issue since May 2016 when first trying the new Aerosoft Frankfurt, still with high LOD Radius. Reducing the LOD setting I no longer experience any problems anywhere, including airports such as Flytampa's very own Copenhagen and Toronto, UK200 EGLL, several FSDT and Flightbeam airports (KJFK, KLAX, VYVR, KIAD, KDEN) and so on.

I am hoping that Flytampa is going to be able to do something about the very high VAS usage. The airport might be a complex one and I understand that one can always reduce their settings and switch off stuff but that is not what we intend to do especially knowing that other, similarly large and complex airports run with no issues.

At this point, the airport is pretty much useless for me, it was in the making for such a long time yet so many people seem to report VAS issues, it is clear that something is not right.

First ever long haul OOM (on P3D version 3.4) was last night into EHAM. 10 freaking hours and bam, OOM. Thank God FOR my VA ACARS to recover flight. I got all the FT stuff and can even make it into CYYZ/CYUL with the PMDG 777!! I got stuff turned down too. If FT is going to market a scenery that you have to shut everything down to bare minimum to get into, forget it!! I don't want a scenery for taking screen shots of, I want to fly planes into it, period.

B777ER, I absolutely agree with every single word! This scenery is useless at the moment unless you delete/deactivate/switch off/roll back/reduce most of your stuff/settings/addons/simulator.

i abolutely agree with Sydney ,

This is from a previous post from me ,

Hi,

just landed EHAM , rw27 as UAE9934 , PMDG 77L .

Departed FSDreamteam KLAX this morning and after 9,24 hours landed in EHAM without problems. ( over England and Northsea ) 2 hours before departure i configured the plane at the fedex terminal at KLAX so total time is 11.24 and about 10 min taxi at EHAM,

VAS usage .

KLAX 2.812
after
2 hours 2760
4 hours 2779
6 hours 2745
approach 2780
at stand 3024

With AS2016 ASCA ENVTEX ftx ground , lc europe , lc amerika , online vatsim with traffic. WITHOUT ftx vector

Just to add, settings in P3d , detail max , autogen normal , shadows 20 km out of my head ,

FTX vector consumes a lot of VAS .

It is not fair to put al the blame on Fly Tampa , it s a heavy scenery but so is EKCH , CYYZ , YSSY .
The problem is we all want max detail, we complain when signs or buildings as in the real world are not in the scenery and if they are we complain about VAS.

Why don't you complain at ORBX that there Vector uses a lot of VAS or complain at LM that their P3D consumes a lot more ?

There are a lot of options for you to enjoy the scenery , but you just need to balance your settings IF you have VAS problems .
In the past we didn't have to worry with VAS because we didn't have a PC powerful enough to set all the sliders to the right , and if we did frames dropped all the way , but now with faster CPU s we can increase all our settings without frames are being affected but a new problem rises , VAS .
We all want to install more and more , Clouds , mesh , terrain , vector you name it , but is has it's price if we install all of it .
Until we get a 64B P3d we have to deal with this , so don't put all the blame on Fly Tampa

BTW P3D v 3.4 consumes more VAS then 3.3 , even with HF2 , you know you can roll back to v 3.3 wich gives you more headroom ?

I 'm using 3.4 with HF2 and don't have any problems , just returned from Bali 16 hours , arriving at EHAM with 3.1 VAS used , but i don't use FTX vector

Apart from the fact that I don't have Vector but I still have VAS issues, people don't want to have max detail.
If you are flying an airliner you can have medium settings for terrain. However have a less detailed Europe to fly in a single scenery, simply it's not an option.

Having just bought EHAM this afternoon I have found this thread and am a little concerned.

I have Sydney, Dubai, Copenhagen and Athens and none give me any problems even flying FS Labs Concorde. I dial back some of the scenery settings and this gives me enough VAS.

I'm hoping these settings will be okay for EHAM but if not then perhaps the fix for the city scenery will help.

Fingers crossed.

For those having VAS issues in P3D v3.4, try using Nvidia Inspector to turn the 'ShaderCache' OFF in the P3D profile. This saves around 300mb without visual or performance impacts.

Tweak is still new, so use with caution at your own risk. Source and credits: http://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.p ... vas-usage/

hello guys, I know its a little old topic but is there any solution about EHAM vas issue? I have Amsterdam since the first day but seriously i cant complete a flight, it is so sad you cant enjoy a fantastic scenery/airport and ofcourse after you spend almost 30 euros. I did try the lite version with no luck. I have FSX SE.

my addons:
FTX Global base
FTX Vector
openLC Europe/North America
ASN
REX4
