To Flytampa... George...And the entire crew...

Post by windshear » Thu Aug 25, 2005 9:09 am

Last night I flew from London to Seattle as Speedbird 49 Heavy...

I hadn't seen the scenery I bought from you the day before, I had trust in you, knowing that what ever I'll it'll please me, so I was taking it as a surprise...

WOW!!! After some 10 hours of flying, I arrived on the VERY tire struck runway! NICE!
I was almost speechless.
First off, I have a 1900+ CPU so I need every FPS I can, but I also want to fly my MOST BELOVED aircraft, the PMDG B744... AND all the traffic I've spent years building and maintaining... AND I want scenery that will blow my socks off. Impossible right? NO last night was one of the THE most intense FS experiences of my 7 years of simming!!!
I cannot begin to describe it, but it was REAL!
Remember the feeling you have when you land in a new airport, for the first time you look at it living feeding, with all of its detail and traffic...
This was the same feeling I had! Except now I was the pilot.
Isn't that what we all in some way seek in simulations?

PMDG and FLYTAMPA makes this dream come true in MSFS!!!
I cannot thank you enough, I know I paid for it, but I feel like I have to thank you for your contributions, as FS standard will try and follow in your footsteps instead of certain other quantity minded creators...
I know it must be frustrating having people ask if you could do this and that, but please try and see ( I think you already do ) it as us appreciating your work so much, that we would trade off our entire FS sceneries with yours!
I think Dubai, SFO, MIA and now SEA proves that you can do big time airports! The elements I have seen in SEA are so outragious to me (haven't bought Midway) that I can hope this will be the sign of things to come.

Here are SOME of the almost 500 screenshots I took at SEA...

Thank you Boaz. Very nice screenshots.

Its a shame the AI BAW stole your PMDGs gate tho. :)

LOL. that's the same problem I have... no I wanna be BA 48/49!
I recompiled the flightplans with that flight to show up at 70%. If I'm flying the speedbird I can move my traffic slider to 69% and it won't show up.

Well I know.
But I get a kick from it... No no not like that... But more in a sense as.. LOOK HOW FREAKING REAL IT IS!
When I am flying I always use real DEP and ARR times, so I get all stressed and so... Beating the AI flight is always a goal I set for myself :D

Beautiful pics. I especially like the ones where you're looking out the side passing the Alaska terminal.

BTW, about the duplicate AI BAW traffic... if you download the Microsoft Traffic SDK you get a utility called TrafficExplorer (it's an FS module). With it you are able to delete or remove single aircraft from the FS world. Kind of like sniping :). Anyways I use it it's pretty convenient to remove your AI doppleganger at your departure airport and then again at the arrival if it's still there. (What happens is that everytime you fly a certain distance FS will bring in a fresh batch of AI planes... and sometimes the one you deleted gets put back).

It's also really handy for deleting aircraft that are ahead of you on final, as opposed to refreshing the traffic and losing all airborne traffic altogether.

We now must clone Martin and George and have them build every airport in the world for FS10! :D
