Bad performance
I'm running into a bit of an issue with this scenery. The performance just won't play nice. I'm having troubles getting above 10-15 FPS on a pretty good system (i7 6700K, 16GB RAM, 980Ti and running from SSD). I have all options disabled, AI disabled, Installed the lite textures and I'm still having this issue. Any idea what's going on and how I might fix this? Thanks!

Re: Bad performance
That's very unusual in AMS, perhaps other add-ons active in the area (ie NL2000) ?

Re: Bad performance
I never had NL2000. I also tried disabling Vector to no avail.

Re: Bad performance
Are you using P3D/FSX?
Perhaps check your display settings are not too much? With all those elements disabled, bad performance must mean either display settings, or other add-ons that drag performance down too much.
What's your performance using default Schiphol?

Re: Bad performance
I'm on P3D (3.4.18, same problem on 3.4.14). This is also my only airport that performs this bad, no other (FlyTampa) airport does. Running on 1440p and usually I'm around 30FPS. Rest of the settings aren't really spectacular either. 2048 texture resolution, not too much detail in many things. I can give you specifics if you want to. Default Schiphol is around 50 FPS.
Re: Bad performance
If you are getting a solid 30, you are golden. I have an i7 4790 OC'd to 4.9, 32GB RAM, (2) 1080 GTX's. 30 FPS seems to be a sweet spot for locked FPS in FSX...the resulting "smoothness" and lack of stuttering will give the feel of 60FPS. No one is getting a solid 50 FPS in add on scenery unless they are rocking a super computer.

Re: Bad performance
try setting your FPS to unlimited, found out that unlimited gives better framerates then locked 30.

Re: Bad performance
I don't have my FPS locked and nowhere did I state that. My FPS won't really go above 20 no matter what I do to my settings and I don't think that should be the case. A friend of mine is getting 40+ FPS with the same settings and almost exact hardware.

Re: Bad performance
can you post your p3d settings, with some screenshots , maybe can see some things that could
proof this low FPS.
Although 20 fps is not really bad for Eham, in fact everything above 20 fps you will not see in flying.
and stutters can also be there at 50-60 fps but has more to do with programming faults in scenery
as in computer power.

Re: Bad performance
Here you go, my settings. As you can see it's really nothing too fancy. All the extra settings in the FlyTampa configurator have been turned off, as you can imagine. Still my FPS is not above 20. Furthermore, what are you on about with above 20 FPS you can't see? I can make a clear distinction between 20, 30 and 40 FPS. And this FPS is really low if I compare it to the FPS all of the people I know are having on Schiphol.

Re: Bad performance
20 is low for these settings at AMS; will have to ask again, what are you getting with default, i.e. deactivating FT-EHAM?
also try removing road/boat traffic, I have seen P3D frames being dragged down by these in AMS.

Re: Bad performance
Thanks for your reaction Emilio! I get around 50-60 FPS on the default airport with these settings. I have to mention that previously my traffic settings were already turned down, I turned them up later again when flying somewhere else. So the 20 FPS results where already with the traffic sliders to 0%

Re: Bad performance
I have no really smart answers unfortunately. I know that with your settings i get close to 80-90 frames at default airport, which are brought down to close 40 at FT-AMS, what other stuff you got running in the background, ie FTX-wise mostly?
