I have no idea what you're complaining about. Flytampa, OSS, and Imagine Sim are the 3 leaders right now. Imagine sim did an excellent job on DTW and we should encourage all 3 to keep up the good work.

Imagine did a good job with DTW, you should try it out. While I confess that Fly-Tampa is the cream of the crop...Imagine is right under them. If Imagine was not around one would not have DEN, DTW or MSY right now. Would you rather have FS9 default stuff or Imagine's stuff? Martin and George only have so much time so other developers are for sure needed to keep the FS9 third party stuff going.

Did you forget Sim-wings...their Paris CDG is the best airport scenery ever created with working (slow) gates, photo-realistic textures (day and night), reflective surfaces and elevation differences...no one else has done all these features yet!

Btw...FlyTampa is #1 in US Airports...I still don't like Imagine Sims textures (old technology) and OSS hardly exists except for Gathwick!

Just my 2 cents...Darryl :o

All of Imagine Simulation Airports are top notch and KDTW is just spetacular.

I do prefer FlyTampa because they not only look amazing but are nice and smooth on frames, IS is also very good on performance but nearly as refined as these guys.

Sim Wings LFPG is amazing, Ive yet to explore the whole thing but I love the dynamic parts of it. A lot of great scenery out there.

I agree, Simwings CDG is wonderful. In fact I am heading there now from OMDB. The only bad thing so far is with the LDS 767, the NAV2 will not operate any of the gates.

Yeah Ive tried everything with the 767 as well and cant get them to operate. Imagine Simulations released an update to KDEN the other day which allowed all add ons to operate the gates hopefully the will too. There are to many add on planes not to support them in the scenery.

Hey,
I guess you are all right about DTW. It does rock. I just wish it went better with frames. ALSO i wish everything was more smooth and just not so boxxxy. Well thanks for all the notes.

Go get'em FLYTAMPA. The picture of the 20 Degree angle of a landing view of the airports terminal in winter is my backround. I cant wait. Just think by next week we will be flying out of this airport in our PMDG 737-700 SWA. Or even ATA. YES OH YES.

:)

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,

I will see you there in DAL livery as well. They have a regular run from ATL using a B738.

Ha.

I just did my planning for tuesday. Flight # 1372 11:05 to 12:50 from MDW to LAS. Hopefully to land on runway 25L at LAS. I am hoping MDW is out by tuesday. If so, make your flight early so I can wave to you as I roll out at my VR speed. :) :) :) . HAHA.

See ya then

I get great frames with it, KMSY and KDEN. I think, and this isnt a dig at you at all, that you look at Imagine's scenery the same youd look at Flytampa. The thing that sticks out about the guys here is that the scenery they produce is completley unique. it has a different look and feel to it that makes it just awesome. I could tell you a flytampa scenery from any other add on developers, not because the others stink, just by the way it looks.

Flytampa's performance in unmatched with the level of detail they produce which is why they, in my opinion, are alpha dog in the airport add on business.

I don't have any of Imaginesim or SimFlyer's stuff, but I'm about to get a hot new machine to run FS, so I'll probably have to check them out...frame rates comparable to FlyTampa??

Imagine Simulation is very comparable to FlyTampa if you have a decent rig. I get about 3-4 frames on average less if even that. KDEN I get the same as any FlyTampa scenery.

I run right now a:
P4 3.6 HT
1.5 Gigs of RAM
Geforce 6800 ULTRA 256
Audigy 2ZS

Sim Flyers is a bit harder with the exception of the newest and by far the nicest, KPHX.

I have KPHX, KEWR, KDFW, KIAH of Sim FLyers. KEWR and KDFW are killers I cant recommend them infact I dont have DFW installed anymore. KIAH is pretty smooth and very very nice. KEWR is nice enough to tolerate the performance hit, I fly out of there more than in however.

Dream Scenery's Indianapolis airport is very nice as well and runs pretty darn good.

The best thing about Imagine is their docking system works with all the add on aircraft which is a nice touch and they are like FlyTampa, very supportive of their work. Sim Flyers is not.

SimFlyers appears to be DOA. Too bad, KPHX is a great airport. It would be nice if someone would come along and update their older airorts to GMAX.

I'm really looking forward to FeelThere's 737-300, 400, 500 PIC that should be coming out this summer. I foresee a lot of SWA flights out of Midway.

You would be surprised what some RAM will do for your frame rates. I run a 3.2GHZ, 1.5Gig RAM, with a 128 MB Raedon 9800 PRO and my machine rocks along great. The only change I made was going from 512 RAM to 1.5 Gig and I was really surprised at the increased performance. You really need a decent machine to run FS, I think, to enjoy it.
