New Version Crashes in FSX (non Steam)

Post by wiss » Thu Nov 05, 2015 11:06 am

Good evening,

I have three sceneries from you, those are Copenhagen, Toronto and Sydney. Yesterday I received the e-mail regarding the release of the new versions of those 3 sceneries. My simulator is FSX non Steam

After reading the e-mails I proceeded to uninstall all 3 of them, then I deleted the FlyTampa folder to make sure there were no remnants of the sceneries that could create conflicts with the new versions.

After that I downloaded and installed the 3 sceneries in the following order: Copenhagen, then Toronto and finally Sydney. The first two worked perfectly after the reinstall. However, when I want to load a flight at Sydney, the scenery crashes at 38% when loading terrain data.

I tried to load the scenery multiple times but with the same results. A reinstall of the Sydney scenery didn't help either, I even reinstalled all three sceneries but still no success with Sydney.

When investigating my scenery library I discovered 3 entries of the FlyTampa Libraries, each one of them corresponding to each different scenery, however they all point to the same folder. I tried deleting two of them but still it didn't solve my Sydney issue.

The previous Sydney version (before yesterday's version) worked perfectly for me. If there is no other solution, can I get back its installer? (I lost it for some reason). Considering I read in another topic that the new version is not relevant for FSX

Thanks in advance

Try removing all the Sydney entries in the scenery library. Maybe remove all the ft libraries entries too.

Load the sim & check the default airport looks okay.

Then re-install.

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately it still doesn't work. I checked my scenery library in case there were more Sydney entries but there were not. Also I tried again disabling the FT libraries on the scenery library but still FSX crashes when loading.

Still it gets my attention that FSX crashes everytime at 38% when it is loading terrain data.

Just in case, the default Sydney scenery works perfect. I even tried redownloading the installers in case there were some corrupted files.

Is there any chance I could get back the 1.0 installer? Was there a 1.1 version?

In other topic it was said the newest 1.2 version does not bring anything different for FSX. So version 1.2 is equal 1.0?

Thanks

I just made a new discovery: when seeing my Windows 7 Event Viewer, for every crash there are 2 errors listed.

The errors refer to the files g2d.dll and API.DLL

Any ideas?

Thanks

Tried the LiteTex texture package, but still no success.

My system specs are

CPU Core i7-4770K 3.5 GHz (1150)
HDD 2TB Sata3 7200 rpm 64MB
Video NVIDIA GeForce GTX660 Ti 2048MB GDDR5
Windows 7 Profesional OEM 64 bit
DDR3 32GB (4x 8GB) 1600MHz PC3-12800 HyperX Beast

Tried all your suggestion but again no success. I also tried to turn off all the settings in the configurator to see if it relieved some demand on the computer. Also, as after the installation I switched to the November textures on the configurator, I went back to October to see if there were some corrupt files on the November textures, but none of things work.

Also, is still strange for me that the previous version worked perfectly but this one doesn't.

Thanks in advance

New update,

Today i discovered that a single file is causing the whole mess. The file in question is yssy_lc.bgl located in the Sydney_LC folder. If I remove it the scenery loads normally.

Is this file too important for the scenery?

As further information I made the latest tests with the 1.2 version, without the LiteTex package. Also in the configurator I checked all the options except the 3D grass.

Can you send me your Scenery.cfg file? Maybe you still have older entries in there.

I'm not at home now. Tomorrow I could send you the file, however I recall checking the scenery.cfg for older entries but i didn't find any.

Still. Is the mentioned bgl file too essential for the scenery to work properly?

Thanks
