Domestic Gate Heights
Domestic Gate Heights
Hi George,
I understand your reasoning for not arranging to have ALL gates at YSSY movable. Not a problem.
Can I ask if you're able to reduce the height of most of the domestic gates - particularly those dedicated to 737's? Presently, when pulling into the gate the jetway height is way above the height of the 737 door - obviously due to the fact the jetways are static.
This is merely a cosmetic request so that when pulling into the gate the jetway height is more appropriate to the aircraft door height.
As you know (and I'm not attempting to butter you up here) - I love your rendition of YSSY - it's finally had it's due justice in FSX - and that's all due to your commitment and hard work.
I know you more than likely want to move on to other projects and that's totally understandable if that's the case.
Either way, I'm one huge supporter of your work George.
Many thanks!

Re: Domestic Gate Heights
Its possible but not a very pleasant task. As I remember it, they are set to be an average height between a 737 & A330.

I understand completely George.george[flytampa] wrote:Its possible but not a very pleasant task. As I remember it, they are set to be an average height between a 737 & A330.
To assist in decreasing the ugliness of the task, I'll be more specific with "which" gates require lowering.
I should have pointed out in my initial post that not all domestic gates require lowering.
I'll be back soon with the specific info.
As usual George, appreciate your time & efforts!
Rgds,
Steve
Re: Domestic Gate Heights
OK George,
some definitive info.
Specifically, I'm referring to the Domestic Gates at Virgin Australia.
Gates 31, 33, 35, 39, 34, 36, & 38.
For reference - the gate heights you created at the Qantas Domestic terminal ie 3, 6, 7A are perfect for the 73's.
Again, many thanks in advance George!

Woah! That was fast George!george[flytampa] wrote:Try the attached file. It's a little bit lower.

The only suggestion I have left after testing the new gate heights - relates to Virgin Domestic Gates 34, 36 & 38. They are still a little too high. As I understand it, Virgin Australia are only using 737's at those gates despite there being ground markings also for A320's etc.
However, as usual, thanks very much George - it is appreciated.
Rgds,
Steve
