Prepar3D 2.5 Mini-Fixes

Post by martin[flytampa] » Mon Feb 16, 2015 4:59 pm

Finished testing Toronto in P3D 2.5. Don't add these to P3D 2.4 as they will not have positive results.

Fixes Deicing spray speed and increases performance while they are active. Download to and replace file /P3D/Effects/

Snow-drifts worked without any alterations after I installed P3D 2.5 (clean install) and installing Fly-Toronto afterwards.

Note the snow drifts are only visible during daytime, from 09:0 0to 15:00. Also they will only show in Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, but not in March.

George its working found out scenery complexity has to be at least at normal for it to work - way cool - not a big day time simmer probably why I didn't see it - any chance of having drifts at any time ? again super job - thank you

Because of how this FX shades, it looks bad at dusk/dawn/night. Thats why we kept the timing as short as 15:00

Using time preview snow drift looked great to me - if you have a file where we can use it at any time that would be super :)

I have a small issues with CYYZ in P3D 2.5 (default installer, no texture pack downloaded yet)
All tunnels are see through like the screenshot I took on the A taxiway. I tried a reïnstall but that didn't help.
Can't remember if I had the same issue last weekend using FSX.

I also noticed snow drift after 15:00 with P3D 2.5 but it didn't look that bad though 8)

Take care,

Increase your mesh resolution in the P3D settings & it should fix those gaps.

Attached file will enable snowdrift 00-24 day and night. Download and overwrite: /Addon Scenery/FlyTampa-Libraries/scenery/

At certain dawn/dusk times the FX will appear a bit too bright, meaning it will become visible over the white snow areas rather then just visible over the pavement. This is the reason we capped the time, didn't like how it looked myself at certain times.
