Toronto General Specs Recomendations
Toronto General Specs Recomendations
Hi Martin!
Just wondering if you could give me some general computer specs which you think would run Toronto smoothly. My computer is fast but I don't know if it can handle the scenery without lags.
Thanks!

Re: Toronto General Specs Recomendations
Depends on what you consider "smoothly". If you run PMDG, REX, FTX, AI, Weather, all Sliders Maxed... best to hope for at this point is low 20 to 30 fps with a top I7 CPU and NV-X80 GPU. Anything less will prob result in under 20. Its possible to get 40 fps at Toronto, but probably not with all the previously mentioned high-end Addons running. Regarding "Lags or Stutters", I haven't heard any reports of those at least.

I'm Currently using an I5 at 2.90 Ghz + an AMD Radeon HD 7450 along with Airbus X+UT2+AES. Would that have an effect?

Re: Toronto General Specs Recomendations
If you run UT2 AI traffic at 100% it'll probably have a massive impact at Toronto. More importantly, If this is your Gfx card, I believe it won't perform well at Toronto:

Hi,
Updating your graphiccard won't get you much more FPS, Maybe it will increase by 2-5. Most demanding hardware to get you more frames is still your processor.. Not saying your graphic card is bad because your graphics will look even better but it doesn't really increase your FPS.

Very weak card. with Nvidia I wouldn't get anything where the second number is lower then 6. So 760, 770, 780 = good, lower then 60 = bad.

Hello again!
Martin, if I update my CPU to an Intel i5-4460 at 3.4 Ghz, will I get better performance at Toronto? Also, note that I will run UT2 at about 75%.

Honestly, I would do some research on the subject. There's so many different combinations of Hardware that have various effects. It's hard asking what will "Run the best". You have to experiment or do some research.JubeMason wrote:Ok, then how do I update Fps? Processor upgrade?Pilot777X wrote:Hi,

The General Recommendations "for any scenery, aircraft, airport etc etc" would be a top notch CPU (overclocked), Good Video card, 8+ GB of ram, and possibly an SSD drive for your sim and addon's.
Keep in mind that on top of that, you'd have to tweak your system according to your personal preferences. It's all about balance. You cant run every single item on MAX settings, even if you have a 5000$ PC. That's just the way it is. There are various other resources to follow when making a decision on your next hardware purchase. I would recommend taking a look at the hardware guides provided on numerous websites.
Cheers,
