Can't get AI to work in FS9

Post by cpurick » Mon Oct 22, 2012 10:24 am

Can I have the exact Airports.txt value for VHHX 1.1 in FS9? I've seen at least three listed in different places.

I'm having no luck with this. I've done it a few times with 9Dragons before, and I understand how to recompile the bgl files to do this. My compiled files work at other airports, but I'm seeing nothing at VHHX. I have confirmed that the traffic is no longer at VHHH.

This current installation is using MT4.1, and has never had 9D installed. I have removed VHHH from the Airports.txt files when adding VHHX. I've never had this problem before.

I disabled the default Hong Kong photo scenery. The FlyTampa VHHX entries are the highest priority in my scenery, first the scenery and then the landclass. I do have FSGenesis.

I did my install with static aircraft unchecked. I think the other options were all on, including ship and vehicle AI, fireworks, etc.

Can't think of anything else, but if there are any questions I'm happy to answer.

I don't care if my AI flies the IGS or anything, but I would like to get it working. As I said, I've done this before in 9D without any problems. If there's a special trick to this, please let me know. And I want to make sure I have the airports.txt coordinates right.

I got this working. I separated my modified traffic BGLs into their own directory (I created both a /scenery and a /texture subfolder, even though the BGLs only go into the scenery folder), then I added the traffic as a separate scenery. I made this new traffic scenery a higher priority than the Hong Kong scenery, and the AI became visible immediately.

Maybe this'll help someone.
