9/11 Tribute Using my newest Livery (1 year in the making)

Post by Turbine777 » Sat Sep 10, 2011 11:56 am

Hey gang,
Fly Tampa's KBOS never looked so good (or so I think). I've been working on this 10th anniversary edition - 9/11 paint since the day I finished last years regular. I've spent well over 1,000 hrs on it easily. What made this so complex were several things, but mainly because I put EVERY name of those who died that tragic day. I nearly abandoned this project a few times because even with the huge fuse of the PMDG 747-8x, it didn't pass earlier tests. I managed to redo it several times and got it (luckily I gave myself a year). The livery is available to download on my forum DanTrix.Net and should be available on Avsim & Flightsim.com soon. Fly high and remember those who not only perished but all the families and friends of the ones who did.

You can read more about it and see some screenshots here (more on my forum), or watch the video below.

Watch in full screen on 1080p, it actually looks MUCH better. I hide several things in all my videos, FLASH, web site, DVD's (easter eggs), etc... The things hidden in this video aren't really hidden but the more you know about 9/11 the more you'll enjoy the video and understand what my thoughts were, or excuse the term "Artistic Expression" ;) .

Fly Tampa's KBOS was used and it really makes the video. Sad video but had to be done in Boston for several reasons.

PS. 99% of questions are answered in the video description. I'm not the idiot type that posts a video and lets people ask for anything, over and over and over and over. ;)

Not sure where to put this. I was going to in the KBOS section but not sure if that's support only.

Better music would've been Alan Jackson's "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning".

Nope, Good tune though. These songs words are what the video is about. Glad you liked it. Oh wait, you only wanted to post what should have been done, I forgot. Friendly place.

If you're not willing to accept the criticism along with the praise, you shouldn't be posting it.

Lmao, are you serious? I put it here to show how good KBOS looked, but what you are doing is not criticism, grow up. To say someone chose the wrong song is obviously because you fail to see where these three songs I chose are what makes the video, it's like telling god he made the fish wrong, it's my creation, a song choice cannot be wrong, it is only a matter of preference. I was being polite but I wouldn't let your song play on my radio for 3 seconds but that is just a matter of taste and it's fine to be different. Personally I rather take a song that has nothing to do with 9-11 and make it work and the viewer actually make 1/10th of an effort, but if you want to make a video and use a song that actually written word for word for 9-11 then, hey, haha more power to you, to each their own.

Like I said, you can't take criticism. You're the one who needs to grow up, Junior.

I can take criticism just fine pops. I just disagree with your choice in music and know from your original statement you never even watched the video or you would have heard there are 3 songs. You also seem to lack the understanding or accept that the video and the song are intertwined. You are talking about your preference in music, nothing more, so sorry if I don't agree with you. As far as taking criticism, you should come by some of my forums there pal, you might have a different take on me.

As for your original post though, you know it, and I know it. You are just the type that has nothing good to say. A paint that involved? All you had to say was what you did so pull out of me Bruce.

I am a proud supporter of Fly Tampa, not you. I wanted to show them their airport in my video. Probably one of the best videos I've seen of it. I have 4 forums, 2 of which aviation, all support addon companies like this one. My intentions were sincere and your input has been heard, bye now.

All I hear is a bunch of whining because someone is a bit too sensitive...shame really, the paint was a touching tribute.

Yeah it looks like whines to me too. It wasn't my intention but oh well. What can you do. My apologies.

Sad how this thread got the way it did. I only wanted to share this with you all, nothing more. This wasn't meant to be about any public notoriety or give me praise thread. Just to share the video in honor of what it's about, 9/11.

I will say though that there are some really rude people here and I don't mean just this thread. I have several reviews on FT scenery and boast to everyone how above the rest it is and why but truth be told, this forum is one of the worst I have ever seen. Which too is sad for who's forum it is.
