When I check the AI-ships option in the installer,
FSX will hang when loading a free flight at 88%.
If I uncheck it all is fine.
Any ideas, using Vista 32 FSX DX9 non-SDK mode?
Great product by the way...
Animated AI-Ships hangs FSX at 88% ?

Just to investigate further. Before loading the flight, go to FS Display Settings, Traffic tab and check what the GA traffic is set to.
Set it to zero and try again. Ships won't appear that way even if it loads, but it may provide some further clue. Also, if it loads that way, see what happens when you increase the GA traffic while in-game.

Tried your suggest test:
It loads fine with ships checked when GA is at 0.
In game if I then increase GA (25%) it hangs at 19% load on returning to the flight.
Hope that helps to track the issue down, if I can be of any more help just ask. Area looks great without the ships any how, but I noticed some screen shots today with ships and wakes and wanted try it.

I tried several things to reproduce your crash situation without finding any clues.
The ship traffic consists of 4 basic items, verify you have them installed.
- The AI models. A number of folders named "flytampa_aiship***" within FSX/SimObjects/Boats. Even when they are missing, it doesn't crash here.
- The Wake effects. A number of files named "flytampa_aiship_wake***" in the FSX/Effects/ folder. Also doesn't crash when I remove those. The wake texture "flytampa_wake1.bmp" in FSX/Effects/texture/ missing also doesn't crash it here.
- The AFX file "afx_2HHX_flytampa_aiship.BGL" in /Addon Scenery/FlyTampa-HongKong/scenery/.
- The "Flightplans" for the ships. The file "Traffic_flytampa_aiship_2HHX.bgl" within /Addon Scenery/FlyTampa-HongKong/scenery/. This is the file that the installer either copies or deletes to depending on the AI-Ship checkbox in the installer.
Only thing I can suggest at this point is that you see if somethign changes when you replace the file above with the one I posted in the following thread:
