New Brussels airport scenery (EBBR)

Post by _Dre_ » Thu Jun 21, 2007 6:55 pm

I haven't been to this airport since FS2000 with an "Airport 2000" version installed and it was my first official IFR flight (EGLL- EBBR). Fond memories for me. Anyways, here are some screenies of the new release from Dream Factory Studio.

I've never been to the real airport personally, so if anyone has been there or have intimate knowledge of EBBR please share your opinion of how the screenshots compare to the real thing. According to their forums it should get AES'd as well.

It looks good, I have their Geneva and it's pretty good, never been to either one irl, so I can't comment on that aspect.

Visually it looks sweet, I wonder about the performance.

Hi guys,

I installed EBBR yesterday. I didn't hesitate as I was still using the freeware rendition which really showed its age now.

Dreamfactory did a good job on this! It's close to the real one...
Framerate hit is heavier compared to FlyTampa Scenery... but Martin & George are hard to beat isn't it??
I would say, performance more like Cloud 9 EHAM on my rig.

I read on the DFS forum that the AFCAD will be improved very quickly and that's necessary. A lot of airlines are parking at the wrong terminal right now.

There is also a small issue with the PAPI's at this moment... Have a look at the dreamfactory studio forum for more details.

No major show-stoppers though... things mentioned above will probably be corrected soon.

Regards,
S.

Hey,

I'm from Belgium so I know a lot about Brussels Airport. It looks very nice however, there are a few missing details. (Nothing is perfect except the FlyTampa sceneries.).
The Afcad isn't correct. DHL stands at the gate etc.
The beacon BUB is missing at the end of rwy 25L.(Small detail but even the freeware sceneries have it).
The tower could 've been done better.(Also like in the freeware sceneries).
The docking system is different than in real life and it would be nice if the tunnel and the 'spotters hill' were included but these are the real details.
And unfortunately the hangar 40 burnt down last year I think so the hangar is now (almost) removed.
A few missing details but the scenery stays very nice.
Greetings,

Instead of bitching here, go to the dedicated EBBR support forum http://dfssupport.informe.com/ and post constructive remarks about inaccuricies and or missing items in a polite way and maybe it will be in the announced SP1 for the scenery. The building crash bug at apron 1 gates will be fixed. Also Aerosoft's AES will be out for this airport with version 1.80 next week.

Hey calm down there B777ER, I asked if anyone knew the real airport to share how the DFS version was compared to the real thing. Don't destroy him just becaused he answered the question.

*Can't we all just get along*

Sorry man!
I said the scenery was very nice. I see the airport almost every day so... People asked about the difference between real and fs. I just compared that's all. The scenery very nice. DFS is the first to make a payware scenery for FS, so many thanks for that. I really appreciate your work. Nothing to 'bitch' or whatever you call it. Sorry B777ER.

Gelukkig is niet iedereen hier zo warmbloedig als de poster twee berichten hierboven, Pilootje :?

Anyway, welcome to the forums!

For non Dutch speaking folk: it says; Fortunately everyone is not here as warm-blooded as the poster two bulletins above, Pilootje

I think you mean cold-blooded my friend. At least that is what my girlfriend says I am :D

The warm-blooded part was meant to be ironic. No offense to B777ER of course, but I thought a new forum member whose first post isn't a scenery request but a (in my eyes, et least) useful review of a product should deserve some slack, whether you agree with the criticism or not. I figured the Tom was flemish so I posted the ironic part in Dutch.

Let's all be friends now!

Back on topic:
I think I'll wait with buying the new EBBR (although I do intend to get it) until the first SP arrives. The fact that the airport is AES'd is a big advantage in my eyes (and the reason I'm not going for UK2000 airports anytime soon).

Only a bit off topic:
I haven't seen any in-depth reviews for Cornel's Geneva airport on this forum. Does anybody around here use it?
