AI vehicules for FSX St Marteen scenery ?

Post by Silverbud » Thu May 17, 2007 7:57 pm

hi folks !!

I noticed that there was not AI vehicle in the Marteen Scenery on FSX, i was wondering if you guys were planning to add it as an upgrade

I got to be honest, i love seeing vehicles driving around when i land taxi or take off, it just make the whole thing more realistic.

I know you are only planning to do St Marteen for FSX, but could you maybe enlarge of one or 2 more scare the details and sceneries of St Marteen town ? I notice that there is no vehicule connection on the right side of the runway, it would be awesome to have vehicules with a cool traffic around the airport.

Also, last suggestion, maybe to give the possibility to the gamer to set up how many AI vehicules he want to see, same for scenery vehicules and characters. I know that i could bring up the graph more if i could =)

I would like to finish this message by saying that i truly love your product. I will use this scenery for more than one video. I just have a feeling of realism i v never experienced before in FSX

Thx Fly Tampa !

Best Regards

There are AI Vehicles that do run around the airport in Marteen scenery FSX.

You must set the slider to a high percentage.

Living World animation is based on how many GATE and CARGO parking spots that have been coded. There are also various fuel trucks parked in different locations around the airport for AI Panes prior to takoff and the USER Plane if you call for one with the CTRL key combination. You will also see 3 pieces of equipment assigned to each Gate coded spot.

At the present moment the amount of Vehicle animations (LWA) is controlled by the Simulator and amount of parking spots coded. THey are also Region specific.

You also have a choice of which type Jetway you want to use. Martin coded both the stationary (like FS9 version) and the Animated Jetway if you want those.

notice how it is available for the St. Maartan addon. With these two combined, you'll have an amazingly realistic experiance.

Yes but I do believe they are upgrading this for FSX. Anyways, TNCM isnt compatible with FSX. Or is it? :?

AES doesn't work with FSX. Plus, doesn't FSX have it's own service trucks.

It does, however they are made pretty poorly. Its basically a low quality jetway that comes to you when called on (it doesnt do a very good job of lining up with the plane) a pushback truck that push's you back on command (I wish you had to call with the radio) two baggage trucks that do nothing but sit in 1 place (they dont come to oyur plane) and a fuel truck that drives up to the plane, but you do not see the hose attach to your plane when it is refueling.

It may sound like a lot. It is. But there is a lot they left out, plus the ones they do have are all very poorly done. Lets review:

Jetway: pros: it can attach to your aircraft on command
cons: it is hailed by a button, and not radio. It does not have a siren. It lines up badly with the aircraft. It is very bland, when it comes to the design.

Pushback truck: pros: it will push you back on command, and it can push you back left, center or right.
cons: it is hailed by button, and not radio. You need to tell it to stop, otherwise it will keep pushing you back. It is very bland when it comes to the design.

Baggage truck(s): pros: they are there.
cons: they do nothing, and they are bland when it comes to the design.

fuel truck: pros: it comes to you on command, and can actually refuel you to the amount you choose.
cons: it is hailed by button, and not radio. You do not see the fuel hose attach to the aircraft. It is bland in design.

And there you have it. Poorly made vehicles, that are pretty much eye candy, with little to no use. :|

Hope that helped :)

Except the fuel truck which seems to be a pretty decent improvement over the old way.

yes, but it would be a lot better if you could see the hose attach to the plane. But yes, it is a nice improvement :)

You are very misenformed and it is clear with your pro's and con's that you have not studied or read proper documentation of how the Living World animation works in FSX in conjunction with User or AI type planes.

I suggest before giving out information that is not true ask someone that has studied how FSX works.

I don't understand what your saying. I'm lying? listen, I have or 800 landings in fsx, which is the only simulator ive ever flown (besides x-plane) you might be able to say something with paper and code facts, but I can tell you the reality, as I have spent over 100 hours at various airports. The baggage trucks will only move if you file a flightplan (with the flighplan creator in fsx) and go to your assigned parking space. If you go to parking (the one atc instructs you to go to) you first have to be lucky if there are baggage trucks. Many parking areas are not equipped with ground vehicles unless you put the ground vehicle level up to max, which frankly my computer cant handle. So, you file FP, land at airport, get lucky enough to have a parking area with vehicles, and then, they may come up to your plane, but they dont always. I have come to a parking area with vehicles after i complete an FP over 100 times, and only once has two vehicles for baggage come to my plane. When, by the ssmall chance they do, you will see no baggage come out. Just them sitting next to your plane, being pointless. Another problem is that the second you stop they come to you. this is a problem because many times you can accidently stop while parking before your parked, due to the fact that there is no dude guiding you in. If you do accidently stop, you have two options:

1:sit there, in a improper parking area, and let the baggage trucks come to youI
2: park in the proper spot and have the baggage trucks attached to you at very wierd spots

Overall, I do not count on these vehicles to do their job, as they are programmed poorly.

Sounds like AES for FS9 is much better than the fsx system, but I've hardly used fsx so I don't have first hand experience.
