FlyAmsterdam v2 (P3Dv4 compatibility)

Post by emilios[flytampa] » Fri Nov 19, 2021 4:26 pm

Full compatibility for P3Dv4 requires this file to be copied over to P3D/FlyTampa/scenery (and replace existing file)

updated for v2.1

Hi

I want to buy the update but I don't get it.
Is this file like a fix because V2 is indicated as P3Dv4 compatible.

With V1 installed, a few tweaks were required to use it with ORBX TE NL.
Do we have to reset these or leave the same tweaks? Can we also use your LC now with TE NL as in V1 we had to deactivate it.

Kind Regards
Patrick

Will this solve the elevation problem?

The patch works with V4 without ORBX TE NL. I won't get it to work with TE NL yet. A bit silly that a product which says is V4 and V5 compatible that you need a patch right from the start to get it working. Scenery is lovely though.

Hi,

I wasn't aware of the v2 until today. I installed v11 on Feb. 6 2019. So I did the update to v2 but then this file to make it v2.1 puzzles me.
The ADEX files are in D:\P3Dv4\FlyTampa\Amsterdam\scenery instead and there is no file with that name to be replaced by.
I do have ADEX_FLYTAMPA_EHAM_2016_ALLRWYSOPEN.off and the other ones for EAST.off, NORTH.off, WEST.off and SOUTH.bgl because that one was set active after the installation of V2 with EAST active.

@olafie The instruction writes that for making v2.1 active over v2.0, I need to replace the file 'adex_ft_eham_apen.bgl' in D:\P3Dv4\FlyTampa\Amsterdam\scenery with the downloaded one in the first post of this thread. But... there is no file with that name on that location. What I do have is the files mentioned in my post which come from the GSX add-on to make all GSX stuff work on the entire airport. That's what puzzles me. :-)

Have you uninstalled Amsterdam v1?

Because FlyTampa v2 has its own GSX presets

@olafie I really cannot remember if I uninstalled v1 or just installed v2 on top of it. I'll give it a try to uninstall v1 and after that install v2. I sure hope the GSX presets of v2 are just as good as those I downloaded from LEMD (now via Simmarket), because they were outstanding. BTW, it would be very nice if v2 is able to handle the N, E, S, W wind situations setting while P3D is running. After all, I have it set on all RWYs available and then you see weird AI behaviour like taking off from 06. Add that up by the awfull and unrealistic way that P3D handles AI around airports, everyone is in for a lot of surprices. Like too short landing distances, weird taxi patterns after landing and entering the RWY while you are on short final. But that's a P3D thing for sure.

Flytampa Amsterdam V2 GSX presets are extremely good. The only con is that the stairs appear on jetway stands. Easy three click fix though.

@olafie Well.. I finally had the time to go trough the whole thing. I downloaded 'FlyTampa Universal P3D Setup' to perform a clean install of v2, but... it seems that this gives me v1.3 instead.
Then I found the paid update. Hmm.

Just bought that update. Seems to be a large install v2.1. I hope it works installing on top. My Guess is that I probably don't have to replace that file sinces it's v2.1 already from the downloaded installer.

19:24z Well... NOT. Same issue as others. Aircraft sink in the ground. Just replaced that file. Let's see for what surprise I'm in next.

19:31z Everything normal now. But... the jetways are just like the default GSX jetways and not the Transparant or Opague glass as selected. The show goes on.... searching the forum for a solution.

Next day 08:43z Now I get it. The transparant/Opague setting is for the terminal buildings and not fot the jetways (what I expected, since GSX had that kind of jetways in Level 2).
