Sydney V2 Update P3D V4 Texturing Issues/General Issues
Hi FlyTampa,
I am experiencing several texturing issues in the P3D v4 version of YSSY. Compared with someone in P3D v5 and they do not have any of these issues so it is most likely a issue with the way it was compiled for P3D v4. Running P3D v4.5 HF3.
The entire Ground Poly for the airport flickers between the textured version and a blank ADE underlay texture depending on where you are located relative to the scenery (panning and moving around).
The tree textures around the airport perimeter are a grey colour instead of green.
General Issues:
Bay 83 and 85 are again textured in the wrong position as in the previous version. Bay 83 should be closest to Qantas Drive.
Hangar 416 QANTAS texturing the 'N' is a different colour to the rest of the word.
It would have been nice to see all the Qantas hangars receive a proper texture upgrade to the 2016 branding instead of just Hangar 131.
Bay 54 at the international terminal has 3 jetways including one inside another where it should have 2.

Thanks for the report. I'll add them to the patch list.
The ground clipping I don't see on 4.5. Make sure you don't have any old SYD scenery remnants. AFCADs from ORBX packages etc. Or any global mesh scenery if you have any?
The trees, I know, they look bad in V4. The shader is for a future version of P3D. I didn't want separate files for old versions.
Why are you sticking with V4? If you don't mind me asking.

In P3Dv4.5 i also have the texture issues and weird tree textures. I have turned the ORBX YSSY files (3) off, i have YSSYv2 added by XML method like the other FT airports and i have not had any other Sydney installations on this setup....very weird
I had planned moving over to FS2020 but thats no where near ready yet in my eyes so ill hold off for now. Upgrading to P3Dv5 seemed abit pointless and also a LONG process in uninstalling everything v4 to then reinstall and configure for v5. Its a good few days process with ORBX stuff, custom AI and the rest.
Mesh wise i use the FreeMeshX which sits under all scenery entries.
I had planned moving over to FS2020 but thats no where near ready yet in my eyes so ill hold off for now. Upgrading to P3Dv5 seemed abit pointless and also a LONG process in uninstalling everything v4 to then reinstall and configure for v5. Its a good few days process with ORBX stuff, custom AI and the rest.

If you have Orbx Au. Its makes a big mess. I'll paste it below to save your time.
Q: Orbx AU Australia messes up the airport
A: Find the Orbx folder located at YourPrepar3DFolder\ORBX\FTX_AU\FTXAUv2_05_SCENERY\scenery\
Now rename these three files listed below.
ADE_FTX_AUS_YSSY.bgl
ADE_FTX_AUS_YSSY_CVX.bgl
FTX_AUS_YSSY_objects.bgl
Rename them to
ADE_FTX_AUS_YSSY.off
ADE_FTX_AUS_YSSY_CVX.off
FTX_AUS_YSSY_objects.off
Now open up the scenery database in the Prepar3D options. Shown below.
Find the entries called FTXAUv2_07_MESH, FTXAUv2_06_CVX, FTXAUv2_09_EXCLUDES and FTXAUv2_05_SCENERY and move them below the Entry for Flytampa-Sydney.
Restart Prepar3D and the airport should be restored.

I also have P3D v4.5 HF3 and Orbx AU v2 installed with those Sydney files disabled from AU v2 and still getting something similar of the above on the ground as well (and the tree thing too).

I've just installed AU V2 and its clipping the ground on my fresh V4.5 also. I'll dig deeper and see what its messing up.

I've discovered a few more issues with Orbx AU2 which seem to only effect P3DV4.
Its still important you move those Orbx layers in the scenery library down below Fly Sydney and remove ADE_FTX_AUS_YSSY.bgl and ADE_FTX_AUS_YSSY_CVX.bgl from their FTXAUv2_05_SCENERY folder.
After this i still had problems and narrowed it down to a file called 1_excl_FTX_AUv2_default_objects_and_effects.bgl in the FTX_AU\FTXAUv2_09_EXCLUDES\scenery folder.
Find 1_excl_FTX_AUv2_default_objects_and_effects.bgl and rename it to 1_excl_FTX_AUv2_default_objects_and_effects.off.
Restart P3D and Sydney should be back to normal.
If you still have problems, just try temporarily disabling all the Orbx AU2 layers to see whch one is messing up the airport.

I have discovered that the issue is 3D grass, if you deselect it in the Configurator the ground poly / clip issue is rectified.
I have FTX AUv2 P3Dv4 HF3.
I have all recommended files set to .off including the latest from the exclude (however for me it does not make any difference). It seems to be an issue with 3D grass. Specifically, I am talking about the ground poly / clip issue whereby at certain angles you only see the blank ADE underlay.
Another issue (very minor) is Parking 5 - Ramp Cargo (Qantas Freight Terminal) is correct in that the gate number on the pole (5) is correct, but moving right, gate 4 shows the no. 3 on the roof of the terminal, gate 3 shows the no.2 on the roof of the terminal and gate 2 (the last spot in front of the Freight Terminal) shows no.1 on the roof, where in fact gate or spot 1 is the position (correctly marked out) that faces Airport Drive.

All ORBXv2 Australia files are lower than FlyTampa Libraries and Airports.
I have now in total 4 ORBX Australia v2 files set to off (suggested above)
No other Sydney airport ever installed on my setup and my AI traffic is custom freeware via AIG.
The flickering persists, FPS arent as smooth as they are elsewhere but could that be down to ORBX Australia v2 as well?

Don't worry about the trees and grass. They are known to look awful. They use a shader from a future version of P3D. I might provide an alternative set.
P3D V5+ looks so much better than 4.5 so I thought you wouldn't mind ugly tress and didn't want to have alternative files knocking around.
The flickering is more serious. Did you try disabling that freemesh? No old syd bits or afcads?

Right, so i removed the Australia/Oceanic entry for FreemeshX and still the flickering continues.
Never had any YSSY version on this P3D setup (though you guys issued hotfixes for EHAM, OMDB, LGAV etc i never bothered installing them as i prefer to use a fully compiled SDK version of the airport so YSSY has been vacant in v4 till last night.
You know, i do like the look of v5 but it was so unexpected when it came out and we were a few weeks away from the release of FS2020 but thats had such a mix in reviews that as i mentioned before it still seems to me like its in a beta stage with quite some maturing to do before its one ill buy into as well as all the addons that are equally coming out and requiring updates plsu theres no PMDG ready stuff for it yet or a good A32X series so i just feel as though i should stick with v4.5 of P3D.

I have exactly the same issue in P3Dv4.5 and I have done all steps mentioned above (renaming files to .off). ORBX AU is active, as well as Pilots Global mesh.
No issue before with Sydney V1. As there is no official uninstaller, I hope I have uninstalled V1 completely by removing the two Sydney folders in P3Dv4/flytampa.
EDIT : Deactivating ORBX AU has no effect.
