Ortho4XP integration

Post by emilios[flytampa] » Tue Jul 28, 2020 3:27 am

Your shop's accounts are now updated with an archive for better integration with Ortho4XP.

To receive this update you will need to log in your simmarket or XP org store accounts. For BMT, please request a re-download link to see the additional link.

Installation instructions are included in the archive.

Thank you! I'll test it right away! Do we have to do the conversion process with this update?

Hi guys, I purchased directly through FlyTampa. Do I just rerun my universal installer that's still on my desktop, or do I have to d/l a new installer?

Thanks!

Same here, I have installed directly via Fly Tampa. I have sent an email to BMT requesting a new download link (Not sure if this was the right process) or will it be a case of just download again using the link in the email that was sent from original purchase?

Edit to post: I received an email back from BMT with the updated links to install the Mesh for ortho4xp. So anyone wondering if you brought directly from fly tampa then go to BMT's website, contact us page and look for the email, send them your details and they will email back with the install zip. Took around 40 mins to get a reply so not too long. Hope this helps.

Great! are there any specific parameters to set on Ortho4XP, besides the ones mentioned on the readme file, to create the ortho tile?

The zoom level must be 17. After that only textures folder is needed to be copied or linked to the new FT vegas mesh folder

i've created the ortho with the mandatory parameters, it blends perfectly with Las Vegas scenery, but now I have trees all over the place. is there a way to remove them?
I don't know how to add pictures to the post, so please check the links.
Thank you

I can see from the Nellis airport shot, that trees extend to the other tile too (+36-115). X-Plane's default tree coverage is unrealistic, there are a lot of trees over the desert. But not so much as in your shots.
If you disable all Las Vegas folders, does the problem still exists? Can you confirm that it appears only with the new mesh with integrated orthos? What other global addons do you have? (global forests? SFD?)
Can we take a look at your scenery_pack.ini file?
In any case, we strongly recommend the excellent forests add-on "Global forests" by GeoReality, that has a very realistic tree coverage over N.America and Europe. It excludes all forests below and places its own.

I'll try your sugestions and will post results, and scenery_pack.ini, as well.
How do I add pictures and files here in the forum?

You should be able to see an 'attachments' tab when you compile a message, right under the 'submit' button. Let me know if not.

I just tested and all is working fine ... can’t confirm issues with vegetation/trees

Looks like the issue was the SAM Global Trees add-on, I unistalled and it looks much better now... I thought it would replace only default trees/forests textures, but somehow added trees all over the city and surroundings...
