Saba floating

Post by BernhardS » Mon Apr 27, 2020 11:40 am

Hello,
I have a strange problem in P3DV5 with the newly updated Saba. When starting directly from Saba everything is ok. But when I start at St. Marteen and fly to Saba, the whole model of the airport (rocs, houses, runways, everything) is floating about 220 ft above the sea. And there is a platform looking like from an airport which goes very steep from the sea to about 110 ft. The TNCS_ADE4_FLYTAMPA_dummy.BGL is installed. It is a vanilla P3DV5 version with only ORBX sceneries installed, and there are no duplicate AFCADs with a saba or TNCS name. As a test I have deactivated APX31250.bgl which contains the original airport layout but without luck. It seems to be a problem with the mesh resolution, using 10m or lower, everything is ok, but using 1,2,5 m then there is this strange platform. By the way i'm using the built-in mesh from LM. So maybe coz of the new mesh in P3DV5 this problem is arising?

I just did a quick test by slewing over there from TNCM with mesh 1m and didn't see the problem. Can you post a screenshot of what it looks like.

Martin, thank you for your test. But you are right, everything is ok. I made a new installation of my P3DV5 coz of several CTDs and now the island is ok.

Hello, I have the same problem with floating objects on TNCS. However, the problem only occurs on a second approach. If I start from TNCM with destination TNCS, everything is fine. However, if I then fly further to TFFJ and back to TNCS, the error occurs and the objects float in the air.

There is also a problem with the coastline of St. Maarten, as shown in the picture.

I have installed FS GLOBAL ULTIMATE NG 2020, ORBX Global & Vector (Prepar3d v5 HF2)

Best regards
Joerg

Used the universal installer. St. Barth and Princess Juliana all looks okay.
I'm on p3dv4.5, orbx only installed UK, no world or global addons.
How can I fix this?

Added screenshots of library and airort selection. Don't know why the world entries for Saba are at the bottom. Installed all via Add-to-P3D.cmd.
In p3d scenery world, I couldn't find any *SABA* file. Do I have to copy the world scenery objects to P3D Scenery World folder?

Thanks

I fixed mine by turning OFF 2 of the ORBX VECTOR files located in ...Prepar3D v4\ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_FixedAPT\scenery directory.

Changed ABP_SABA.bgl to ABP_SABA.bgl.OFF and APT_SABA.BGL to APT_SABA.BGL.OFF and everything seems to be working now.

I don't have orbx vector installed. So no solution on my end.

I'm a bit sad, no answer here from official support.

Hello, i have the same problem : ORBX Base, LC, Vector and P3D v4.5
It happens only when when I start at St. Marteen and fly to Saba. So strange.... The solution of @c141fe is not working for me.

I also have this problem.
Is there still no solution around?

I also don't have ORBX Vector installed, and no other sceneries for this region.

+1, same problem with "floating" SABA, only in P3Dv5.2, not in P3Dv4.5.

I think I got it now. I made the mistake to install the v2.1 but having only P3Dv4.5 I only need to install v2.0 via universal installer.
Made a flight from TFFJ to Saba and everything looked okay.

Hello.

I'm also getting this problem, p3dv5.3 hot fix 2, updated to latest 2.1 via installer, made sure there are no duplicates.

Thing is the airport is correctly positioned at a distance or if i start my flight there, then once i close in whether flying or slew mode, it suddenly snaps upward and is up in the air again.

I'm out of ideas, can we please get a reply from staff?

Thanks.
