I've installed KMDW yesterday (great scenery!), and I've encountered a small problem. Lucky for me, this problem is already solved, but I wanted to share this with other users, who may experience the same problem in the future, and see if anyone knows where this error is coming from.
Ok, here we go. I've purchased the full version of KMDW.
First, (before installing KMDW) I started FS2004, and shut it down again (this is to make sure the library is in a default state). Then, I've installed KMDW with all features enabled (static aircraft, etc.).
When the installation is completed, I tried to start FS2004 to update the library automatically. As soon as FS2004 displays the splash screen, the following error message displays:
"Unable to open file C:\Program files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery".
At this point, it's impossible to start FS2004. This is a very strange error, because it never happened before, and as I explained earlier, before installing KMDW, FS2004 worked ok. Also, I've installed KMDW in the default installation directory (Addon Scenery\FlyTampa).
When I restarted my computer, and tried to start FS2004, everything worked ok again. So, I manually added KMDW to the scenery library. Now everything works fine, and I love the scenery!
But don't you think this is a very strange error? I've also installed KSAN and KSFO from FlyTampa, and I didn't have any problems with these airports. I don't have any other addons installed in the KMDW area.
Does anyone know what's causing this error? It must come from KMDW, because FS2004 worked fine before installing KMDW.

I've heard of our installers failing to make the scenery.cfg entry, however I am not aware of any single scenery being affected specifically since the process is the same in all our installers. That the process corrupts something to the point where FS won't start without a reboot is new to me as well. Normaly if would just fail and spit out an error message.
