I must be doing something wrong...

Post by PhilCiborowski » Sat Sep 22, 2018 12:16 pm

I have both the Aerosoft Boston X and Boston Reloaded from Fly Tampa installed with my Prepar3d V4. I am a new user (finally saw the light of day) and had things working just swimmingly . I bought the Boston reboot and installed it just fine, and after wiping up the drool I noticed that they only sort of work... meaning I see the majority of the city south, and the entirety of the airport with no issues- but anything north, the ground textures will not show up unless I am 10 feet off the ground! I did rename the 2 filed to OLD to not interfere with the AI traffic being underground, but not sure what else I am messing up... thanks a ton!

I Also included a screenshot of my world display settings - as maybe this could be the issue?

Screen shot of the bad area?

Maybe a third party mesh problem?

Being a new user the only 3 addons I have are so far This, BostonX and ChicagoX.
In the scenery library listing they are locked so I cant move them around either.

This is how it should look.

Did you follow the instructions here?

I did - and just in case, I uninstalled both, reinstalled the whole city scenery first, then the airport to see if that type of layered install would work - which it did not.

The issue I indicated is not limited to just around the airport but continues that way north up the beach as well. Im stumped

So this now has me even more baffled... If I fly past the point, the CitiesX Boston ground texture comes in perfectly... its almost like theres an overlapping texture around the whole airport and reaches out to the north a great deal, and to the south, east and west as well ..

I've been trying but couldn't replicate your problem.
The first shot looks like your video card isn't processing alpha (transparency). Are you using a laptop with a low-end video card? Or you changed with the graphics card settings externally?

No I just use the in game settings to handle graphics - and I am on my desktop with a 1080ti.

Still trying to work this issue out... is there something else I could try setting to *.off? I think I have the majority of the two sceneries working together, but there are still some issues within the harbor and Castle Island area...

Aerosoft was apologetic but unable to help.

I've tried removing various aerosoft bgls but never had any further luck.

Did you get the water fixed from the problems shown in your first shot.
The other issues are normal running both sceneries together. If Aerosoft won't fix it, there's very little I can do my end.

and maybe I am actually all set (?) but there are some weird things happening in and around the docks as shown.

Is this how things should be?
If so than c'est la vie and my OCD will just have to suck it up! I have other sceneries to buy lol :D
