In P3D v4.2 I followed one of the AI planes and saw that instead of flying the IGS/LOC course towards the checkerboard it was somewhat to the left, crashing into a hill. It basically went "through" the hill and then lined up with Rwy 13.
Anything that can be done about that?
I am using VHHX latest version, with the patch posted here on the forum for P3D, and FTX mesh.
PS: I have recorded it, but I presume the file is too large to be posted here.

Re: AI planes fly into hill on approach to Rwy 13
There are 2 issues with the KaiTak approach. First the AI should follow waypoints in this "extra" afcad file: VHHX_APPROACH.BGL That should be in your Kai-Tak/scenery/ folder. If that file is not there the AI won't even attempt the proper approach but approach Kai Tak straight through the mountain. If you have them flying in somewhat correctly over the city towards the checkerboard but not doing the turn correctly this was a second issue that had to do with AI aircraft's cfg files. Some (or many) have capabilities in the cfg that won't allow them to do the sharp turn. There isno easy way to get them all working, I recall looking for AI models that did the best approach and then copying parts of their CFG into other AI's cfgs to make them more capable.

I just finally went into the afcad and shut down take offs on 31 because all my 747's were flying into the mountains.
Thanks anyway :)
