That's awesome news Martin, looks promising :P No wonder it has been quiet the past 14 months while you were working on this eye-candy masterpiece 8)

Martin,

I'm just curious if you tried to contact Jim Vile to implement IGS13 approach for AI.

Thanks.
Lurking in the shadows and never too far away when it comes to Kai Tak
Good to hear that. :)

Hi,

i really thought it was kind of late aprils fool when reading the announcement on simflight.com ! After seeing the screenshots i only can say: That's the flightsim news of the year, more then a dream coming true!

Outstanding work and i'm going to buy multiple copies as a kind of saying you for that masterpiece!!!

Can you post a shot where the runway is visible from closer and during day? Just curious if the runway is kind of elevated (i always hated the 9Dragons runway sitting flat on the water surface) and if you managed to implement the bridge where traffic was taxing over ;-)

Thank you!

The Jetway was originally for the doomed KBUF (World's most boring airport)
Maritn you piss me off. The buf is a great airport and if you have'nt seen it lately they have gone through major changes lately!!!

Probably because they first want to see how everyone is reacting on FlyTampa doing Kai Tak and not Chep Lap Kok (hint: look at the banners they've created...)

It wouldn't surprise me if they release an airport package for Hong Kong in a few days that includes Kai Tak AND Chep Lap Kok... Just to fool everyone...

Very good work!

I must honestly say that I could have done without it. I was secretely hoping for something in Asia, it was more along the lines of the BKK, the new PEK or a decent version of SIN. Still, this one looks amazing, it'll replace my 9 Dragons.

For all those that are worried about AI traffic, here's what I've done when 9Dragons came out:

1.Used some imagination and in my imagined world I decided that Kai Tak was like Haneda or Gimpo: a former intercontinental airport that now serves regional flights (Pacific Rim Asia) and British Airways.
2. With the help of AITM, copied the flightplans files of all Asian airlines that I wanted at Kai Tak (JAL, ANA, Korean, Asiana, all the Chinese, Thai, etc.). Did the same with Cargo traffic
3. In those coped files, moved all flights from VHHH to VHHX
4. Merged them into one flightplans file
5. Compiled it into a "traffic_Kai Tak.bgl"
6. Activate that file whenever I have Kai Tak running - and deactivate it whenever Kai Tak isn't

There's a degree of "unrealism": because I don't de-activate flightplans but simply add my merged Kai Tak flightplan, flights over Hong Kong appear twice, once going to Kai Tak, once to CLK. However, almost never have I heard the same callsign twice. However, I de-activate the traffic bgls for Cathay and Dragonair.

One question: what is that CLK freeware everybody mentions? I have one, but I am not as enthusiastic as other people seem to be. It's nice, I use it, but it's nothing to write home about.[/list]

Will the traffic be included or will we have to get some crap from avsim? :D

I don't quite get what all the worry about getting traffic into VHHX is coming from. CLK is an extremely busy airport so if you divert 1/3 of the commercial traffic arriving/departing from there and 1/2 the cargo you should have all the traffic you need without any noticeable difference at VHHH.

As you look at the flightplans of the major carriers from the major destinations most of them have multiple flights to/from Hong Kong. So if a carrier has 2 or 3 flights involving VHHH from the same destination just change one of the VHHH to VHHX. When you are done making all the changes you are comfortable with just recompile your traffic bgl and you should be all set.

Well said, plus I'm sure people will make traffic files in no time, so if somebody is not comfortable or doesn't have the know how to do that there will be traffic files out there.
