FINALLY, an extreme quality Sydney airport(I know it will be extreme quality because Flytampa is ALWAYS extreme quality). I have absolutely no Australian airports but I would die for one, and now we have a Sydney coming from one of the BEST add-on publishers EVER! I will buy as soon as it comes out. Now I can finally fly my Qantas fleet somewhere!

Fantastic that FT is doing YSSY.
It is one of the most important airports in my life, both FS and for real, as I grew up in SYD and flew through Kingsford Smith regularly.

However, why can we not get satellite ground imagery with FS9? This has never been a problem in the past, as it's usually pretty easy to integrate for both sims.
I would buy this for just the 3D buildings, but what is an airport without a proper ground layout? Seems pointless.

I think you need to re-read the thread ;)
The airport will include all of the FT features we are a custom to its the surrounds, ie suburbs and City that will not have ground imagery like Dubai and the rest that have extensive coverage :)

I wish you were right...
Quoting thread starter: A FS9 version is likely, but will have to have some cuts. eg. No photo scenery, partial tunnels & 3d terrain.
I can survive without the city scenery, but the airport should always have photo scenery at this professional level.

I cannot express how happy I am that this is being made. I was so disappointed when there were barely any decent sceneries for Sydney since it's where I'm from and it's a major airport. But now it's finally being made and by FlyTampa as well!

I have to say that your products are among the best scenery add-ons! I really look forward to Sydney!

If I can offer a humble suggestion, would it be possible to start making your sceneries fully compatible with DX10 preview? As you probably know, over the last few years many contributors in our community have worked on tweaks to make DX10 preview better. I also mention this because I use terrain products like ORBX. When you start combining your highly detailed airports, ORBX terrain, UT2, etc, FSX's VAS limits are quickly broken, which lead to the dreaded OOM error. DX10 preview tend to eliminate that problem when combining these great add-ons.

Many thanks!

I always hoped that Orbx would someday create a Sydney airport but after installing KTPA and practicing approaches onto 01L and veiwing the airport and area, I can with great satifaction state that I am happy Fly Tampa has stood up.

Does anybody know what's inside the six semi-circle glass capsules on the tower?

From the architect's web site:
http://www.amwarchitects.com.au/project ... -tower.php

"Below the cabin, the six pods of the cloverleaf shaped main deck, contain technical rooms, duty staff rest areas, toilets and a plant room."

With Qantas and Emirates now linking up through DXB, it's going to be amazing to fly between FT's Dubai and FT's Sydney!

FT are by far the best and most advanced FSX scenery designer out there. Cannot wait to line their pockets again with more money, well deserved! :) :)
