I tried both and really didn't like X-plane at all! Deleted from system and gave it away.

I've heard good things about X-Plane but the fact stands: the majority of flight simulator users use MSFS and therefore the majority of addons are produced for FSX and FS9.

Looks like the Microsoft Flight website got an update (new video and FAQ)

.
http://www.microsoft.com/games/flight/
On a side note, is that the same model & paint as the default Cessna 172 from FSX in the background of the Webisode 1 - Soul thumbnail?

Make sure you check out the FAQ's... They answer a lot of the 'main' questions and fears we had about the difference between 'simulator' and 'flight'.

I really hope that msflight comes with full access to the wonderful ground polygons without having to do all this crazy stuff they really have to stop using the old way for once!

and hopefully they will use shader's for the ground and other things.

question for Martin or George back when fsx was being developed did they ever consider a better way to do ground work? I just cant believe that got skipped.

They are aware of it and it has been a "hot topic" during FSX dev as well. The problem is that ground polys are only used & needed for airport scenery & airports have not (and are still not) a high priority. The focus is aircraft, panels, flying, clouds, water, large area sceneries, cities, trees, list goes on and on.... custom airports tech not even used in default scenery is very near the bottom.

Thank's Martin I always wondered why it wasn't developed further its really a shame,

I really do hope they change there mind's about it. hopefully msflight can develop it further, then what fs9 or fsx has done. or at least make it a little bit easier to do it. maybe x-live will change that by brining in more people too the flight simulator market. and introduce them to add-on company's like yours. really sucks thats its small market compared to something like halo or gears of war. oh well one can at least dream about it lol at least we have guys like you who do some very amazing work in fs.

I will play the part of George Grimshaw this time. Flight's new footage looks like FSX's same old footage. I'll need to see more before I even think about subscribing.

Not bitter or whiny enough.

Sorry George, I've been away from FS for a little while and am out of practice. How about a lesson?

I'd love to, but I have to behave myself or Martin will make me work on Farm Sim addons.

lol would be very interesting! a high quality hi poly super hd textured cow?

it really sucks you guys cant really speak about certain things but its totally understandable. I'm so pissed at least from what I see that no upgrading of the ground polygons but it still in early preview but I don't expect anything since Martin has mentioned that they are more interested in other things then anything related too groundwork, when it came to developing fsx
I don't really get it how hard could it be to add shader's to the ground like fsdreamteam. or better textures.don't get me wrong I understand its about flying but I really think its important they get some better airport ground textures it just enhances the realism. it just drives me insane the default ones need work. so Martin or George I guess when they start beta after alpha maybe you can convince some programmer at the studio to make it easer for you guys.
