Manually adding Autogen XML entries [v1]
Re: Manually adding Autogen XML entries
Unfortunately not, it grabs a default.xml file, which comes with the installation of the ORBX libraries and contains the entries from default FSX/P3D and some more entries third party developers submitted to ORBX and they implemented it in their default.xml.
I will not comment on this sort of policy ORBX is executing here, and it often led to disputes (last time I remember was with the release of MegaAirport Prague scenery), but it was said, that ORBX cooperates in a friendly manner with the most other developers and integrates the needed third party entries in reasonable time.
So you may decide to get in contact with ORBX to solve this issue. As for now, you have to run the FlyTampa autogen tool every time you have opened FTXCentral 3.

Ralf

No problememilios[flytampa] wrote:sorry for the delay; not sure what FTX central does, autogen-annotation-wise. I would imagine it edits, if it does, the default.XML which is already there, ie already containing our entries, therefore shouldn't be a problem.flusi748 wrote:@emilios[flytampa] My installation ran good without any error messages... Do I have the same issues as you mentioned or will I have those if I run the FTX Central ?
Thanks for the answer

Good to know, thank you! Then it is in ORBX handsRaoulRo wrote:Unfortunately not, it grabs a default.xml file, which comes with the installation of the ORBX libraries and contains the entries from default FSX/P3D and some more entries third party developers submitted to ORBX and they implemented it in their default.xml.

Re: Manually adding Autogen XML entries
Unfortunately again it is not ONLY in ORBX Hands. They have to be informed by Flytampa to integrate their autogen entries in the ORBX Standard Default.xml, otherwise how shall ORBX know what to integrate?

Re: Manually adding Autogen XML entries
Just out of curiosity, how is it possible that, after the FT edits, my XML file is half the size it was before? The FT editor application makes a note of what the default version's encoding version was so I wonder if that has anything to do with it...

Re: Manually adding Autogen XML entries
Its half the size because of the Text encoding. Our edit-tools leaves it in UTF8, but if it was ANSI/16 before it would have been twice the size. You can see this yourself if you load the XML in Notepad, then click save-as and on the bottom of the file-dialog there is a encoding drop-down where you can select the various types.

Re: Manually adding Autogen XML entries
Thanks Martin. That's sort of what I figured. I attempted to use "diffnow.com" to check the actual text contents but it claimed the files were too big.

Re: Manually adding Autogen XML entries
If you load the newer half-size XML in notepad, then re-save and change it to UTF16 (in notepad save dialog), it will become double the size again, a few bytes larger then the original XML because of the added entries.

Re: Manually adding Autogen XML entries
This Fly-Amsterdam_FSX_P3D_AutogenEditor.exe no longer applies, the Autogen entries are now part of the FlyTampa-Libraries which you can download on the downloads page.deepstar wrote:Hi

Re: Manually adding Autogen XML entries
Hi
Thanks.
I downloaded it while installing. The installer made a new default.xml. When Orbx libraries gets updated, what do we do then ? Reinstall ?
Thanks.

Re: Manually adding Autogen XML entries
I believe our entries have been or will be added to the Orbx stuff. Emilios may know for sure.

This is answer i get from Ed Correia:
Hi,
Just saw that new library out, one question about this info:
"new default.xml for 3rd party compatibility"
Are FlyTampa's EHAM autogen entries included in that new default.xml?
We were approached by FT to add their entries, so I'm assuming yes.
