Yeah, the new BMW 3-series 8)
Er!k wrote:Wow, awesome shots! And glad to hear there probably will be an FS9 version as well!!! Will you use AES-lite again for traffic, just like with LGAV?
That's what I want to know, too. It's an awesome feature that enhances an airport a lot! It makes the place feel alive.

With or without AES-lite, I'm looking forward to this airport :) Looking great!

George,
I was looking through your new pictures of CYUL on the forums and they look STUNNING. I do have an error i'd like to point out, I know the scenery is still a WIP, and hopefully it doesn't affect the process of release. I noticed in the picture showing gate 1B, that for that specific gate there are TWO lead-in lines. The picture showing 1B should infact be 1. There's another line about 45 degrees left of that which indicates line 1B. The same idea is at gate 11. There's a gate 11 and 11B for larger aircrafts. I am a real world pilot for Air Canada, and I would be glad to provide any inputs that you request.

Awesome! This immediately recognizable FlyTampa touch...
Even though I mostly fly in Europe, I will eagerly make a long-haul route to Montreal in my FS9.
Thank you, take your time and keep creating great scenery.

BTW Hope you will give European airports one more try next year.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I haven't discussed AES lite with Oliver yet but I'll be contacting him soon to see if we can work somthing out.
Martin designed our own custom lighting for the runways so we wont need AES for lighting but some of the other AES features might still be beneficial.

@CSTT, the lounge bus vehicle(i think of it as the whale bus) I'm not promising as I have a hugh amount of work remaining.
They is some other good news, I managed to get reference for the Taxiway India extension & the new Air Inuit hangar / apron.
So those will be added. Anything else popping up or planned construction will definitely be ignored or ill never finish the scenery

@A320 Captain, I removed the diagonal marking intentionally to avoid confusion. The FS Ai is too dumb to avoid collisions so I aimed for a safe gate layout even if incorrect. All I can perhaps offer is to have the diagonal marking faded down so it's not obvious but will provide a cosmetic effect. I'm away from home right now so can't check, but I recall the adjcent gate has to be empty or its wing clipping time. If you have some upto date data on the gate layout please post it & ill cross reference it with what iI have. The layout of those Air Canada gates changed three times in my reference aerials.

Those textures look tremendous; so precise and crisp. Worn look. But who likes those shiny newly build airports anyway. This airport reminds me a lot of Orly. Good old "'70s '80s '90s outfit". So much more soul than the glass palaces from nowadays.

I would like to say one thing not related to Montreal but FT in general. I am a heavy user especially of Midway and Tampa mostly during night time and I have to say I do not like the intensity and the color tone of the night textures of the surroundings ( I mean only surroundings, not the airport itself) too much.

Why?

The default version of FSX had yellowish, orange and overbright night textures. Thank God "GEX" solved that problem and introduced recolored and darkened ones. The problem is in my opinion that the brighter the textures are the more they loose the illusion of depths, they just look completely flat and you can easily see the boundaries of the scenery miles away. It would be a dream come true to see the night textures of the "surrounding areas" a little bit darker. I hope I did not go too far with my "criticism".

Looks great, this will go nicely with the PMDG 777 and the Majestic Q400.

I understand the confusion of AI when there are two gates as such. Here's my recommendation, if you're willing to accept. Put both lines on, name them appropriately, but only add AI parking spot to line 1, and not line 1B. Reason why I recommend this, is line 1 is solely for the use of Airbus aircraft (319, 320, 321), and line B, which is used only to Embraer and Boeing 767 aircraft. 80% of the time at gate 1, there are airbuses for the rapidair service between Montreal and Toronto. Those not using AI such as flying online can use the appropriate line for their type of aircraft. The same idea applies to gate 11 and all those gates on the Transborder side such as 77 and 77B to have separate lines. Just add AI parking to one of the main line to avoid AI confusion.

I have all CURRENT and VALID charts available to Montreal at my disposal, and I would be willing to lend a helping hand with parking assignments.

If you may have noticed, Montreal Airport is divided into three sections. Domestic, Transboarder, International. Air Canada, and Porter, along with a few Jazz flights, use gates 1-15, gates 47,48, 49, are swing gates meaning a flight can land International and leave Domestic, Wesjet and Air Canada use 47-49 domestic and US flights. Gate 50, 51, 52, are mostly used for wide body to International destinations by Air Canada, Air Transat, and a few other International carriers. Gate 55 is the double gate for the A380, and 95% of the time is used only by Air France, 57, 59, 61 are used by Swiss, British Airways, Qatar, and a few other carriers. Air Canada rarely uses those gates unless there are no other gates available. Gates 56, 58, 60 are 90% of the time used by International carriers such as Lufthansa, KLM, RAM, etc. gates 72-77 are Air Canada Transboarder gates, 78, 79, 81, 83, 85 are mostly United Express, American Eagle and American Airlines. Gates 80-89 are US Airways Express, and other various regional airlines, including Jazz at a few gates. The Aeroquay, gates 19A-B, 21A-B, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 32, 34 are all domestic Jazz gates. Gates 25-34 are exclusively for Dash-8 Aircraft. Gates 19AB, 21AB, 23 are used for Dash 8 aircraft as well, but used predominately for CRJ's from Jazz. Gate 17 is used by Air Inuit, First Air, etc.

The East pads, E1, E2, E3 next to the Aeroquay are used for off gate parking for any aircraft not being able to have a gate, used by Air France, Air Transat, and also overnight parking.

The west pads, on the west side of the field are used solely for remote parking, such as overnight parking.

Gates with double parking or TWO lead in lines are as follows. 1 and 1B, 2 and 2A, 11, and 11B, 55 and 55A, 56 and 56B, 73 and 73A, 77, and 77B, 79 and 79A Those secondary lines at gates 77 and 79 are used for smaller regional jet aircraft, as the main line are for larger, B737, A320 type aircrafts. Gate 73 and 73A, A line is used for parking a B767. Line 56 are for widebodies, and 56B are for smaller narrow body aircraft such as 737, etc.

If you can digest and figure out all the information mentioned above, you are good. :D

Send me a message if you have any questions and I will gladly help out as best I can.
