EHAM MSFS taxi and runway mess

Post by jasperk » Sun Mar 10, 2024 11:13 am

Hi Flytampa, will there be an update on the taxiways and runways?

Scenery looks very good, but when trying to fly with FSLTL AI traffic i noticed a lot of issues and after some investigation i foundsome things in ADE Airport design editor.

AI traffic is doing strange moves like taxiing on wrong taxiways like pax airlines via Sierra taxiway??, and performing takeoffs and landings on wrong "no real world procedure" runways.

It is a mess when trying to fly with AI traffic, and there should be updated <runway> rules etc.
https://docs.flightsimulator.com/html/C ... erties.htm

If i try to change this myself via ADE the scenery breaks and needs to be repaired via backup, so should be coming from your side since we seem not allowed to fix things wrongly implemented.

Also rwy 36R/18L seems to be around 600 meters short when opened in ADE i notice 2826 meters instead of the real world 3400 meters.

Time to fix this ASAP

The AI in ms2020 is broken. Editing the afcad won't make any diffence. The AI will route anywhere it wants, even runways marked as closed.

Try it yourself on a default airport. The more runways, the dumber it gets.

Microsoft are too busy adding crap from Dune to fix the AI.

I don't think this is totaly correct. AI will follow taxi routes as laid out in the scenery. also airport vehicles such as fuel tankers and passenger busses can also be made to follow specific routes, providing the scenery developer puts in the additional effort to map those routes.
I dont doubt there are issues with the AI but some of it is also down to the scenery
