Not really, true.moms the pilot wrote:Does anyone knows if there's a US airline flying outta vienna in real life ?
But Austrian Airlines regularly fly from Vienna to New York and Washington (plus Toronto in Canada).
Austrian Airlines (and Lauda, belonging to the same group) fly to many interesting places in the world, mainly in Asia (India, Nepal, China, Japan, Thailand) as it is one of the main European-Asian hubs. They even fly to Australia. And many airlines from Asia come to Vienna.
Plus, of course, Schwechat serves almost all Europe.
Best regards,
Rafal
As Rafal posted before, Vienna is THE main airport in Europa that serves as hub to Eastern Europa.
Austrian Airlines itself serves with its medium- to shorthaul fleet benath "classical" destinations like London, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris and so on in Eastern Europe Beograd, Yekaterinburg (very very nice freewarescenery released some days ago
), Minsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Sarajevo (nice alpin airport with interesting approach), and many many more. Detailed info visible under http://www.aua.com/at/deu/Austrian/network/
Looking onto longhaul, Austrian Airlines Group flies Vienna-New York 2 times/day, to Washington, and Toronto... to the east they serve Tokio, Shanghai, Beijing, Bangkok, Delhi, Mumbay, Puket and the classical 777 routes to Australia via Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
If you look at incoming traffic, Vienna is a very bad place as a spotter in difference to Frankfurt, Zurich, Munich, Geneva and so on... We have not only one american airline (due to Staralliance/Lufthansa @ Munich), no Air Canada... But we have Emirates, Eva Air, Eva Air Cargo, China Airlines, Malaysian, Asiana Cargo, Korean Cargo... and of course UPS, DHL and TNT... some of them you don't even see in Frankfurt... and on short haul from the east Olympic, Tarom, Ukraine International, Bulgaria, Jat, Macedonian Airlines, El Al...

Don't cry because it's not KSDF or KMEM. You know, there is more to the world than what's contained in the borders of the US.

Some answers to questions posted or emailed,
Not in the near future.Hope there are other European airports in works, too.
I am aware of the construction and LOWW's "masterplan", scenery design however can't be quite as up to date as real-life because of the time it takes to develop and other factors. The whole apron in the scenery is open/useable, the general construction area you pointed out is depicted as such in the scenery as well. The old tower building... On the real airport it was deconstructed in the last couple of weeks etc
Yes, it has been tested with Austria-Pro as well as the upcoming Ultimate Terrain Europe (a beta version of course). Can you tell me wether if it will be compatible with AUSTRIA PROFESSIONAL 2004 ?
There must be either a problem with your AA or AF gfx settings or you have a different perception of flickering. Using all mipmapped textures in airport sceneries turns them into a blurry soup and most details goes to waste. The FLICKERING problems I met with KSEA and others ... Solved ? (mipmaps ,please...)
