Flight Simulator 2020
Flight Simulator 2020
Hi - Are there any plans for rolling on to the latest version of flightsim? I am very sure there will be tons of opportunities there, specially with a host of new capabilities it will likely offer.

Re: Flight Simulator 2020
I certainly hope so. This simulator is heads and tails above the competition (as if FS2020 even has competition!). Airports like st barts and SABA wont be needed at all, as those are some of the handcrafted airports, whereas Flytampa's st. maarten would be a great addition to the sim, as that airport is default (not handcrafted)
Re: Flight Simulator 2020
Legit question. I wonder why Flytampa refuses to respond to their customers. I hope they are still in business. I have a feeling they packed up and moved on to something else.

Beautiful!!!
Really shows what MSFS is capable of with a high Quality Airport done right!

Re: Flight Simulator 2020
Even though I do realize that this may be the hardest scenery to adapt, I (and I am sure many other customers) would greatly appreciate adapting Hong Kong Kai Tak to Flight Simulator 2020. It could turn a great FSX scenery into a spectacular one, with the added benefit of posing a challenge to one's piloting skills.
Re: Flight Simulator 2020
I'm hoping for a FlyTampa KBOS for MSFS2020...
Re: Flight Simulator 2020
What's the name of the developer?
Re: Flight Simulator 2020
Any plans for EHAM on MSFS as well? Hand crafted airports are not up to the mark and some have dreadful performance. I got the Zurich addon and am loving it.
Re: Flight Simulator 2020
Amsterdam v2 is planned and also for MSFS... Copenhagen and Las Vegas are already available. Give the FT team some time... SDK is still version v0.9 and a new sim is also a steep learning curve ;)
Re: Flight Simulator 2020
With a platform with utterly horrendous aircraft whats the point?
I fly simulators for the “aircraft” to maintain currency, prepare for sim and enjoy myself.
I use scenery to enhance that experience but its all about the aircraft.
I own P3D, xplane and msfs.
I was one of the early alpha testers then beta testers Asobo ignored finally releasing the “game” in the disgraceful state it was on day 1 and little better today.
Its going to be at least a year until we get the “first” decent aircraft and even now P3D is catching up but light years in front from a simulation view.
If the devs like FT think people will buy sceneries to accompany garbage aircraft with terrible characteristics thats good for them.
The best scenery still doesnt improve the games terrible flight model and the huge delays all are facing due to MS failing to allow access to core sim areas means we are stuck with crap aircraft until at least early/mid 22.
Msfs has turned into an xbox game no more no less.
Im sure the hundreds of thousands want to invest in scenery like accurate Amsterdam so they can use an xbox controller to wizz around in a super cub.
Ill be sticking with aircraft that you simulate with...not play.
One day say in 2 years msfs might be worth using. But given P3D is rapidly gaining, has the best aircraft(airliners)ever released and is using DX12 allowing far more advanced lighting etc than msfs who knows where xplane and P3D will be in 12 months way before the first decent aircraft in msfs will be available.
Then you have xplane still a better option than msfs and P3D for GA and im sure Austin wont be watching the huge negative reaction to msfs but noting the admiration for its scenery/environment.
Time move quickly in software and msfs has put a ball and chain around its foot with DX11 and its security concerns stifling development.
Msfs has rapidly turned into a white Elephant from a serious simming viewpoint and it may never recover given Asobo stabbed everyone in the back with false claims about scenery quality, weather depiction, flight modelling and aircraft.
Interesting to see if the flood of xbox users low expectations can sustain high value addons.

Re: Flight Simulator 2020
MSFS has an advantage that none others have in terms of computing and worldwide storage infrastructure backed up by real world integrations (meteoblue) and AI (Blackshark). Being a radically new and extremely complex platform, teething troubles are natural and no amount of preparation can avoid them. Very fact that I connect to my regional server for streaming among other things, satellite imagery data transformed by AI gives an idea of scale and complexity.
When, it is past the teething troubles, I doubt if other sims will be able to match it due to the points I mentioned earlier - they simply do not have the infrastructure and resources; their base platform is also kind of dated. P3D and XP are very good today, no denying the fact, but will they last into future in face of what is coming remains to be seen. Aircraft in other sims are not really native/default - are they? They too will come in time and if one does not want to wait it is an individual call - no one is forcing anyone to do anything.
On a separate note - I was wondering why is transparent glass not used in Copenhagen and Sydney for MSFS; barring one or two places here and there.
