St Maarten problem

Post by singulariain » Tue May 19, 2020 9:51 pm

Hello,

Whenever I load St Maarten into my sim, the sim will sometimes stop at 5% on the loading bar or sometimes it will load into the sim, and then my memory usage will shoot up to over 26gb and then the sim will crash.

I’m on a completely fresh install of windows 10 and P3D V5.

I do have orbx global/buildings HD installed, I’m wondering if this may part of the problem?

PC specs:

Intel i7 9700k
2080TI
32gb RAM

Only known reason for TNCM to hang on load would be old AI ship traffic. Do a search with Windows explorer for "Traffic_flytampa_aiship_22FJ" or just "22FJ". You may find this file with the extension OFF which should be fine and ignore. If you find it as "BGL" make sure to delete it.

Windows Search didn't show any results for this file.

Turn AI traffic sliders all to the left/zero and load TNCM, just to rule out that it is something with AI.

I had the same issue. My scenery was fairly old, not sure if yours is as well. What worked for me was completely deleting the old Maarten/Saba etc directories before re-installing, and also noting that the xml looks a bit different from my old version. Be sure to update that if you are still referencing an older copy.
