Huge problems with Copenhagen XP11 - surrounding area and city
Re: Huge problems with Copenhagen XP11 - surrounding area and city
SAM installed, no more warning message on initial startup. However the rest of the scenery still looks awkward and wrong.
The bridge traffic on the Swedish side is there, but appears in 2 layers. As if the FT scenery layer is put on top of the default XP11 but kind of transparent, so there's "ghost" scenery, cars, trains, houses everywhere. If that makes sense? Also the terrain in Cph city is completely messed up.
This is a fresh installation of XP with absolutely nothing installed but FT Copenhagen and SAM plug in.

Strange... Even with my full blown SIM, all scenery, ortho and stuff, but X-Europe disabled, all looks ok to me (example attached).
Regarding the 2nd bridge, could that be the lower train track level you see?

Could you please upload some screens with the issues?lhc7664 wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 1:03 pm SAM installed, no more warning message on initial startup. However the rest of the scenery still looks awkward and wrong.

Re: Huge problems with Copenhagen XP11 - surrounding area and city
Sounds like installation was not done correctly or used a wrong directory, or partially installed? Wrong scenery order? i would just delete all Copenhagen folders from XPlane, and boot it once to clear up your scenery packs.ini. Then re-download and install.lhc7664 wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 1:03 pm SAM installed, no more warning message on initial startup. However the rest of the scenery still looks awkward and wrong.

If its a correct installation and you get no errors in the sim, i dont see any reason for the above.
p.s. if you cannot attach a shot, please link one.
Re: Huge problems with Copenhagen XP11 - surrounding area and city
Here's a few shot from the area. First as you can see the road traffic on the Swedish side, but in two layers. And all traffic stops as it meets the bridge.
And the danish side is now without any traffic on the road. (Kystvejen)
A little further down on Kystvejen I noticed this bridge. Looks wrong, and traffic drives right through it and disappears.
Copenhagen downtown:
Zoomed in to where ''The Lakes'' are supposed to be. Notice the transparent messed up houses and strange hills/landscape.
Here's how Copenhagen looks like when disabling FT Copenhagen. You see ''The Lakes'' and the coastline much more real. And no abnormal landscape hills or anything.

Re: Huge problems with Copenhagen XP11 - surrounding area and city
On your general area comments, default/stock XPlane vectors/textures/mesh cannot be really compared with ortho/photoreal scenery. All default stuff look very neat because they are artificial and mostly flat. When trying to blend photoreal + custom mesh with the default stock data, there will be a mismatch. You get a much more seamless experience when using zOrtho for example.
We ll have another look to see if some patching can be done on the lakes or coastline to make this a bit more seamless.
If you are using Vulkan, you will not see traffic unles you install the updated traffic plugin as previously posted viewtopic.php?p=68074#p68074
>>irst as you can see the road traffic on the Swedish side, but in two layers. And all traffic stops as it meets the bridge.
Issues on the Swedish area are way out of our region, probably stock Xplane issues with wrong traffic or ugly bridges, cannot help much there.

this we cannot do much about. XPlane does not have a native traffic system where cars can walk on custom 3D bridges. As a solution we added custom traffic going over the bridge, which is controlled by Ground traffic plugin. Again you wont see it if you are using an outdated version with Vulkan.

Re: Huge problems with Copenhagen XP11 - surrounding area and city
I have no ortho or photo scenery installed on the photos. Fresh XP11 reinstall only with FT Copenhagen added.
I am running XP11.41 and I had traffic on Kystvejen in my previous installation. Although it disappeared down below the now transparent surface just before entering the tunnel, and then vanished completely.
For the lakes and landscape in the city, I posted that as it was earlier mentioned here that FT Copenhagen only covers the island of Amager, so was surprised to see that after installing FlyTampa Copenhagen (and ONLY FT Copenhagen) the city scenery - well outside of the island of Amager - changed that much! Disabled all the FT entries in the .ini file and the city looks right again.
Also other users have reported that the city and surrounding area looks good even with ortho and xEurope installed, so I figure something is wrong here.

Re: Huge problems with Copenhagen XP11 - surrounding area and city
Thanks for all your help Yannis! I did a complete reinstall again and still having troubles..Yannis[flytampa] wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 4:18 am A screenshot or two with you scenery_pack.ini again, would help to figure things out.
About traffic... do you see any around the airport or at the aprons?
However I disabled the Flytampa_Copenhagen_3Mesh and now the city looks alright at least.
The problemn is now, that I dont see any traffic on the roads or at the apron. (Was also a problem before I disabled the Mesh)
Both cars and trains were there in my previous installation.
I have installed the Groundtraffic Plugin referred to in a previous thread, but still nothing.
Also I just noticed a lot of floating objects at the apron area. Cars, baggage trolleys etc..
Re: Huge problems with Copenhagen XP11 - surrounding area and city
Okay, last post for today!
It seems I have everything running now - ground traffic, trains etc. Even traffic on the bridge.
The big problem remains the Flytampa_Copenhagen_3Mesh file. When deactivated copenhagen and the surrounding areas looks really nice. BUT the road traffic acts weird and the objects/houses floats in various places. So I enabled the mesh file once again.
You mentioned earlier that the scenery only covers the island of Amager? In that case, am I right in concluding there's something wrong with the mesh file as it radically alters the mesh far inland away from Amager.
There is another thread here with some guys using xOrganizer and they had some problems with the mesh file as well. Don't know if anyone solved the issue?

Re: Huge problems with Copenhagen XP11 - surrounding area and city
The only issue with Xorganiser might be that it positions the *Mesh folder in the wrong place. If you open the scenery pakcs.ini, let us know where the 3Mesh file is placed.
We ll look into the issue you report with mesh causing distortion outside the coverage area.

Re: Huge problems with Copenhagen XP11 - surrounding area and city
Thanks a lot! The Mesh folder is where it´s supposed to be.
I find incredible hard to believe that I´m the only one experiencing this problem?
Can you - or anyone post a picture of how the city is supposed to look like? I guess that will solve the problem once and for all!
