UTX (Ultimate Terrain) autogen issue with CYYZ

Post by ZeroHour » Tue Jul 23, 2019 4:01 pm

I have FSX-SE and all the Ultimate Terrain products (USA, Canada, Alaska, Europe, Tropical Americas and Caribbean.) I have noticed an issue after FlyTampa CYYZ is installed. At least one of the UTX custom landclass loses its autogen:

I can confirm after several complete/clean reinstalls of FSX over the past several months that the autogen is fine until CYYZ is installed. I've tried reinstalling any of the UTX products after CYYZ is installed, but the autogen is still missing. Any advice how to fix would be appreciated. Thank you!

In the FlyTampa Configurator, Toronto tab, the last entry "Landclass" is disabled correct?

Correct.

I've discovered that the issue stems from the default.xml for autogen. The CYYZ installer (thankfully!) makes a backup of the previous xml, so I reverted to that one (which was about 10k larger than the FlyTampa one, by the way) and the UTX autogen returned. However, obviously this removes whatever autogen entries the CYYZ installer adds.

Any further thoughts?

Can you check what default.xml you backed up for it to work. Toronto doesn't make any changes to that file.

I assure you it does make changes to that file. The old one was named default.XML-before-FlyTampa or something similar. I can send both of them to you if you like.

From what I recall the only Installers that make changes to the default.xml were Grenadines and an older version of the Amsterdam Installer. They did leave files labeled "default.XML-before-FlyTampa...." but I don't think any current Installers do that, except Grenadines which hasn't been updated in a long time.

I have the 1.2 CYYZ installer for FSX, which I believe is the most current one. And it's my only FT product as of right now, so it definitely did edit the xml.
