Waterholes final 26L/R

Post by PGB » Sat Apr 27, 2019 11:25 am

I've noticed several altitude issues with water surfaces when approaching 26L/R

No ftx SOCAL installed, just ftx/global & vector, no addon Mesh, no elevation issues with the strip.

Does someone have an idea how to flatten that area? Is this Flytampa related or ORBX stuff?

It looks very odd. :(

There are some more strange holes, which should represent a water treatment plant in real life:

This is exactly what I'm getting as well. Have tried all fixes with no joy so far and I have the same installed as PGB above. No problems with the strip though.

It appears to be a ORBX issue. I get those also.

I have this issue as well.

Only Orbx Global Base pack in that area. No Vector. (Other Orbx areas if it matters is CRM, Norway, ENG/SCO/IRL, and Southern Alaska). No other AFCADs or traffic programs for KLAS.

I don't have ORBX and I can see same holes kind from some areas before landing in rwy 26L.

Then it's a P3D issue perhaps.

Vegas mesh is inherently problematic and these water holes appear with or without ORBX in some places as far as i checked. I thought we had taken care of them but perhaps different setups show up more or less of them.

will patch them up and update

On a similar note, I've also encountered some water "hills". Not sure how widespread these are, but here is a sample of some at N36-6.02', W115-16.03'; or approx. the intersection of Tropicana and Durango on the street map - I can confirm that disabling "z_terrain_lasvegas_mesh.bgl" solves the problem (whilst making bigger messes elsewhere).

FYI this is with Pilots FS Global 2010, ORBX Vector and ORBX FTX SoCal installed and activated.

this should fix the water-holes. Las Vegas terrain sits at 664meters high, but P3D renders any water at 0 elevation, creating those nasty holes

I ve excluded a large area going further out from our terrain coverage so hopefully you wont see any on approach.

Drop file into 'P3D\FlyTampa\LasVegas\scenery' and replace

no elevation issues left. The file did it for me. Thx a lot.
