SODE...not that again :)

Post by unc1rlm » Sat Apr 20, 2019 3:07 pm

I have VHHX installed there is in the 12b folder an xml for vhhx (lower case) and simobjects.. Good there. Sode is registered.. I have jetways but no planes connecting. All planes except 707-320 have exits and an exit.ai inside each aircraft.

Nothing shows up at the gates. They are all out in the parking lot. Unless its an afcad issue or the parking codes are wrong?

Thanks for any help. BTW I do have GSX 2 and it is set to default jetways or whatever.

Bestest Regards,
BobM.

You sure you have your own AI at VHHX, not our static aircraft? The static aircraft don't make use of the jetways. If you have AI for sure and they are not using the terminal gates, it is probably a matter of changing the the ICAO codes in the ADE/Afcad.

No...I unchecked all the static stuff.. and I used AIFP to install flight plans and they show up and leave and attempt to fly the checkerboard :

it is probably a matter of changing the the ICAO codes in the ADE/Afcad. I select VHHX in P3dv4.5 and it shows up in Super TrafficBoard etc but its the SODE.
Not sure exactly what you mean?

Thanks Martin,

BobM,
FYI I had similar issues with my AI in terms of their preference for parking everywhere other than at the jetway-equipped gates. The AFCAD installed by default is not incorrect, but it doesn't include parking codes that help steer your AI where you want them. Mine always seemed to spawn far from the terminal, in line with the AI injector's preference for smallest suitable space first.

In my case I edited gates 1-8 to include parking codes for most of my heavy traffic (74x's and Trijets). The next row, gates 13 - 23 I mixed with some codes and some "open", also reduced sizing of a couple down to 90' diameter. Gates 21-32 I reduced to medium (90') and small (65-75'). Gates 71-81 I assigned a "blocking" code (xxx or yyy) as I wanted AI only to go there if no other parking was open.

The above method helped my AI find its way to the jetways and field parking closer to the terminal, with smaller AC would park in the 3rd and 4th rows out if no code was found at the first two rows.

As a test I'd be willing to share my AFCAD with you, but would need Martin's permission to do so since I built mine by editing the stock file.

You are allowed to share modified ADE files of our airports.

That would be great. When you say stock..you mean FlyTampa "stock" so you are updating or tweaking his.

I am using mostly the ai' from the 1998 Ranmori collection

Re your "stock" question, yes I meant the FlyTampa default (my error).

Sent you an email this morning- hope it works!
