Missing KCGX buildings w/KMDW installed

Post by Waltm » Thu Nov 10, 2005 1:58 pm

I've been enjoying your beautiful KMDW Chicago Midway scenery, however I've just noticed that with KMDW installed, some key landmarks around KCGX Chicago Meigs have been replaced with generic autogen scenery (See attached JPEGs). This includes the Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, and McCormick Place. Can you help with this?

Thanks.

Okay, I found a solution that appears to work. I moved the Fly Tampa KMDW entry way down the Scenery.cfg list so that it's just below the entry for the default Scenery\NAMC, i.e., KMDW is "Area.028" and NAMC is "Area.029." By doing this I get the KCGX scenery back and retain the Fly Tampa KMDW scenery.

Is this the recommended solution?

Thanks.

What causes this is the "KORD tweak" (Optional during KMDW install). This tweak is in reality a series of tweaks but to keep it simple we named it KORD tweak since thats the major piece of it. What it does is it removes "FS2004 library objects" such as KORD jetways (which we replaced with our own) as well as other "library objects" in the area.

The easiest fix in this case is to delete the file meigs_tweak.bgl within the Fly-Midway/scenery folder.

Martin, will that just delete the Meigs tweak and leave all other tweaks in tacked? Would hate to mess up Midway just to make Meigs area look the way it did before Midway.

That bgl will only revert meigs, kord_tweak.bgl is the main file you can leave.

I didn't realize that there was a Meigs tweak as well. Thanks for the info!

I was gonna say...I don't think MDW has anything to do with the missing buildings at CGX!
