Can you explain a little better what the problem is, I don't know EFB and no idea what you're pointing out.

The Afcad for LOWW is this file:
/FlyTampa/Vienna/scenery/LOWW_DEICE_ADEX_FLYTAMPA.bgl
or
/FlyTampa/Vienna/scenery/LOWW_ADEX_FLYTAMPA.bgl
depending on your settings.

In my sim LOWW is represented to other application like EFB Aivlasoft Littlenavmap (BGL file) by APX52140.bgl from scenery default folder. Also names of file which you suggest is LOWW_AD4YS_FLYTAMPA.bgl renaming to correct doesn't help.

Maybe because the Scenery is no longer in the traditional scenery Library, instead using the P3D addons.xml, but i don't know if thats the issue with them finding files

Hi Martin,
I've got the same problem.

The files you mentioned above are not on my PC.

The scenery is in /P3d V4/FlyTampa/Vienna. The files therein are:

LOWW_ADEP4_FLYTAMPA.OFF
LOWW_DEICE_ADEP4_FLYTAMPA.bgl

Any idea? Thanks in advance.

Yes, those are the "Afcad" files, I mistyped earlier:

LOWW_ADEP4_FLYTAMPA.OFF
LOWW_DEICE_ADEP4_FLYTAMPA.bgl

How 3rd party tools read such files and possibly need to be updated to read sceneries added via addon.xml is out of my control. I'm not saying I know this is the problem with that tool, but it sounds like it could be the case.

If you want to test, you can remove Vienna from the addons.xml and then add it the traditional way via Scenery Library. Note that Vienna will not work properly if added that way (the ground will be missing), but if by adding it that way the 3rd party tool reads the files you'll know thats what the issue is. I don't recommend this test be done by anyone who doesn't know where and how to edit the addons.xml and Scenery Library.

Hi all

I too have this problem with LOWW (and Libraries) and with another two sceneries from someone else.

I found that after installation LOWW and Libraries are in P3d and work very well. Great job.

EFB however does not see LOWW after installing with the new xml way, hence you get default.
I think EFB only searches the documents\prepar3d v4 add-ons folder for xml scenery?????

My solution was to add a folder to documents\prepar3d v4 add-ons named FlyTampa LOWW. Inside there I copied the add-on.xml from the Vienna folder and edited it to only show this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on">
<AddOn.Name>FlyTampa-Vienna</AddOn.Name>
<AddOn.Description>Vienna Schwechat International Airport for Prepar3D</AddOn.Description>
<AddOn.Component>
<Category>Scenery</Category>
<Path>E:\FlightSim Addon Scenery\FlyTampa\Vienna</Path>
<Name>FlyTampa-Vienna</Name>
<Layer>256</Layer>
</AddOn.Component>
</SimBase.Document>

Between <Path> will be your own installed location.

Then I edited add-ons.cfg in appdata\roaming\lockheed martin\prepar3d v4 to show this:

[Package.0]
PATH=C:\Users\Allan\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\FlyTampa LOWW
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=false
...
...
Path= will be your own Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons location.

Because nothing has changed in your Vienna folder p3d still loads in Vienna scenery as normal but adding the edited xml to your documents folder lets EFB find it.

I hope editing the xml is ok with Flytampa because I use EFB on every flight within the sim.

Thanks, Allan Thomson

PS Remember to run EFB scenery updater afterwards :D

That's correct. According to the Prepar3D SDK, this is the default path for add-on.xml files. It's the so called "discoverable path". Maybe I'm wrong ???

@ Martin[FlyTampa]
Could you please tell me, where (in which folder) you place the add-on.xml file for your scenery? I'm a bit confused, because @jodle wrote in our forum that EHAM could be discovered, but not LOWW.

Thanks for clarification.

The default discoverable path is correct, but any path can be added. This is officially documented here:
http://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv3/LearningC ... files.html

Second Example on that page is basically what we use:
Prepar3D.exe "-Configure: Category=Add-on Package, Operation=Add, FileLocation=Roaming, Path=C:\Program Files (x86)\My Company\My add-on"

From what I can tell you have to look at both the "Roaming (AppData) add-ons.cfg" as well as the "Program Data add-ons.cfg" (there are 2) and from those files you can extract the locations of all Addon paths.

The reason EHAM and other's would not be affected is because we only released fully recompiled v4 versions for Vienna and Toronto at this point. The others are working with patches and using the old scenery.cfg
