P3D v3.4 Black Jetways

Post by nmahink » Thu Mar 16, 2017 4:25 am

I noticed that suddenly the IK jetways at YSSY are black. So I deleted and uninstalled YSSY, then did a fresh reinstall of YSSY, and the IK jetways are still black. Any suggestions? I am also having the same problem with Fly Tampa Dubai jetways. The jetways are perfectly fine at Fly Tampa EHAM on my PC.

Maybe an issue with the FT libraries?

Have you messed with the AFCAD?

Maybe try re-installing. I'm not really sure what the problem could be because I can see the static jets have found the correct textures.

The AFCAD is vanilla straight from installation, no modifications.

Libraries can't be the issue, jetways are packaged with each scenery. Can you post a screenshot of Dubai as well.

I have no clue. In both SYD and DUB the textures are present. I thought that SYD uses a normal map on the jet maybe your system wasn't able to render it but DUB jets don't even have a normal map. Is that the current P3D 3.5? Did you previously have the airports/jetways working in FSX or an older P3D version?

I never used a previous version of P3D, 3.4 was the very first version I bought. I used FSX:SE on my previous computer and the SYD plus DXB jetways were fine. Then I bought a brand new computer (Tailored for P3D), then I noticed the jetways were black at SYD and DXB, here is my current rig specifications:

Windows 10 Home Premium 64-Bit
GeForce GTX 1060 3GB GDDR5 (driver version 378.49)
i7-6700 CPU @ 3.4GHz
16 GB Ram
1 TB hard drive.
120 GB SSD.

Is it possible to have a teamviewer session?

I don't have teamspeak or a microphone.

Could you try moving/deleting the file jetway_syd.bgl from your FlyTampa\Sydney\scenery folder. Back it up first but make sure its gone.

Now re-run P3D & let me know if you still have black jetways?

I deleted the jetway_syd file, and the jetways are still black.

Ah, you might have another Sydney folder somewhere. Can you search your drive for jetway_syd.bgl & figure out if its an obsolete folder. Check the scenery library too.
