Heathrow

Post by WayneGeorge » Tue Feb 07, 2017 1:53 am

Dear Flytampa, Please consider making a Heathrow (EGLL) scenery. The scenery we got for Heathrow these days are seriously outdated and they are very very laggy and bad quality. If you guys would consider making London Heathrow, You have my vote! :D

I second that! The current versions are lacking, have been for a long time.

UK2000's is from 2013 I believe. The one from Aerosoft (Simwings?) is not good on frames at all and textures are okay at best and it also is from a couple years ago. If Fly Tampa did a Heathrow, my Lord, you, Martin and George could all sit on a beach in the Caribbean for six months doing nothing but drinking, getting sunburned and figuring out how to get that itching to stop while watching the money roll in.

Would be challenging yet exciting but it's to soon!

That's just my opinion :) for now I'm good with simwing's version although it's quite heavy on FPS

I really don't think its fair to comment on the performance lag you all get using Heathrow by Simwings or UK2000.

The subject has been thrown around millions of times now and given the fundamental basis that London in FS is surrounded by over 6 active airports and fairly heavy autogen build you will then in most cases expect to further your realism with AI traffic and REX or ASN weather.

I absolutely love Simwings version over UK2000s in P3D. I cant see how their version is outdated?! You've got a fully represented T2! And with regards to T1 being demolished...How can anyone know what that's going to even look like at this stage!? Another Heathrow update shouldn't be expected for sometime.

I am 100% behind a Flytampa Heathrow but do not expect miracles with lagging or FPS...there could be improvement and better optimization maybe but you'll still be confronted with the same issues as you are with Simwings or UK2000.

Amsterdam has had its critics with performance and that is proof that if you are taking on a massive airport in a city as vast as Amsterdam or London or New York there will be bumps and its down to you to make sacrifices in your expectations sadly.

The dream we all wish for regarding flights in and out of London with a PMDG 747 or 777 without OOMs MAYBE round the corner with P3D 64bit...who knows?

UK2000 Gatwick easily

HOWEVER there will be a new 2017 version with the Pier 6 A380 gate and obviously the brand new Pier 1.

This is due mid Summer from UK2000.

Fortunately Gatwicks Facebook page has ALOT of good aerial images that assist with detail so this could be a real hot package when it comes.

I appreciate it. I'll most likely "stick it out" and wait. Thanks

Not UK2000 nor Aerosoft would come close to how you would do that airport! No offense to the other producers

I've used uk2000 sceneries for years and I'm quite happy.
They are not at level of FlyTampa quality, we know, but also the price is different

Gary is one of the few developers who maintain their products updated (even if it's quite impossibile to implement the real changes quickly in our sim world I think).

I own both the Aerosoft and the UK2000 version both have their upsides and downsides, Aerosoft has slightly better quality at the cost of using loads more vas and if you rotate your views quickly having to reload textures as most buildings turn black. I have to use uk2000 version if I hope to take off without oom in any of the PMDG aircraft. Never have had this problem with any FlyTampa airports and you are one of the top three devs out there. Would love for you to do another Heathrow.
