How to disable the photoreal city?

Post by Emi » Sun Dec 18, 2016 4:56 pm

Dear Flytampa,

first of all: Congratulations on a great looking and fps wise great performing Amsterdam release!
The textures are stunning!

I have some issues on the VAS though, I played with the settings quite some time now, downloaded the low res textures (which I am not sure are working - the installer says High Res and in fact it looks quite high res in the sim, too), etc.
Killing many FTX Vector settings saved me quite a bit of VAS, but I still have 3,4GB when loading in the PMDG 777.

I can get 3,2 if I kill the TileMapA through TileMapD files, but this places me some trees and buildings on the airport area.
Is there any chance you could provide an exclude for the airport area without the photoreal city enabled?

All the bests,
Emanuel

First let me know if you had a go at this solution here, then if still struggling with memory i can also do the agn exclusion option

Hi Emilios,

I tried the solution posted in that topic, unfortunately I get a higher VAS usage with it though.

I guess at my normal settings (Autogen at Dense) there are plenty more objects close to the airport than with your autogen.
As the autogen/memory is not much of an issue at other airports I would not like reducing my settings as they work fine at all other airports.

the attached file should work (excludes all agn withinin airport boundaries). Just drop within '\flytampa\amsterdam\scenery'
airport_agnexclude.zip
(653 Bytes) Downloaded 333 times
To make this work, you will need to have both files below turned to *.off

amsterdam_city.bgl
amsterdam_city_basic.bgl

Also you will need to delete all files with the *.agn extension from your 'flytampa\amsterdam\texture' folder. Leave the folders in case you ll need to re-instate agn later on, but just make sure no .agn files remain with texture folder.

I cannot predict how stuff will look as FT-AMS was not meant to blend with default terrain LC, which will be the case after removing photoscenery.

I tried this and eliminated the ground misplaced levels.

But I still see some odd KLM texture in the ground before runway 36C, and some runway texture that appears to be duplicating? Any thoughts?

I run FTX Global, Vector and Europe LC

Beautiful scenery, but its strange that a product of FlyTampa came out with this issues, all of the others work seamlessly...

Thanks!

Also it appears that there is photorealsxenery in the terminals. I m guessing from the Orbx textures and don't know how to turn it off. Its like textures are like stickers in the ground. any thoughts?

Please post a few shots of those defects as it is a bit difficult to make out what is the problem. Thanks
