Runway lights through fog

Post by kavs8 » Sun Jan 08, 2017 4:23 am

Hi all, getting this issue in DX10. Have run the DX10 configurator to no avail, any fix? Quite unrealistic landing in fog and having the runway lights from 3,000ft with RVR's of less then 400m :P

We cannot control light visibility distances so accurately in the sim. The visibility range needs to remain kind of 'fixed' for all weather conditions

That's disappointing. How come other developers can? That's not taking a pop at FlyTampa, however its simply unrealistic in low vis situations which Amsterdam would suffer from regularly.

Some developers are just better then others.

There are a number of ways to implement lights, each with their own advantages and set of problems. What we opted for a few years ago is to abandon "legacy-code" as much as possible, despite that type of code being much more flexible for such situations.
