Amsterdam Elevation/Sinking issues

Post by Jamesyboy » Thu Dec 22, 2016 4:44 pm

Good evening,

I use FSX.

Just purchased the scenery but having major problems. Aircraft sinking below tarmac and when ai traffic is moving they are underground. The scenery seems to have installed correctly. The scenery file and the LC file are both showing the scenery library.

I think there may have been a similar topic in the forum, but it seemed the LC file was missing from scenery library, but when LC installed manually seemed to resolve. So, this is not my case, so assume a different problem.

How do I fix this problem?

Regards.

Sorry,

Don't know where my reply has gone. The signpost you gave me is not helpful. I have FSX and the reply does not seem to fit FSX. I do not understand what has been said as I am not good at the technical stuff. I expect the installer to install the product correctly on my computer.

It would be more helpful to give me step-by-step instructions how to resolve or provide a fix.

Regards.

Hi Emilios,

I wonder why you re not responding to my post. I thought it might simply have been due to the holiday season, but you have replied to other posts which I think is unfair.

I am keen to resolve the problem as soon as possible and I look forward to advice regarding resolution.

Regards.

hi James, apologies for the delay, had assumed it was resolved by the lack of further post.

Could you confirm that you scenery library looks like this:

1. FlyTampa-Amsterdam
2. FlyTampa-Amsterdam_LC

and that those two entries exist at the top of your scenery library? Perhaps a screenshot of the scenery library would be very helpful.

Second, could you please navigate to your FSX/P3D root installation folder and in "\scenery\world\scenery\" and confirm the presence of a file with the following name: AFX_EHAM_flytampa_dummy.bgl

Thanks.

I can't seem to get a screen shot of my library but the entries look like this:
Priority 1 - FlyTampa-Amsterdam
Priority 2 - FlyTampa-Amsterdam_LC
Priority 3 - FlyTampa -Libraries
Priority 4 - Milan Malpensa X and so on for all my sceneries.

But, don't see a file named: AFX_EHAM_flytampa_dummy.bgl

Perhaps run the Installer again, right click and Run as Admin.

Thanks Martin.

I have just downloaded a new installer with my antivirus software turned off. Should I delete previous install before running the new downloaded files?

No need to uninstall, just re-run installer as Admin and see if the /scenery/world/scenery dummy afcad is there afterwards.

Hi Martin,

I have downloaded and rerun the installer and I do not see the file named AFX_EHAM_flytampa_dummy.bgl in the scenery folder. I have accessed Flight Simulator and the aircraft are still sunk into the ground.

Would it be a solution for you to send me the file and I can install?

It shouldn't be this hard, should it? But, I appreciate you trying to help.

please advise.

Regards.

What you sent a shot of was the:

FSX/P3D root\flytampa \amsterdam\scenery

What Martin meant was a different folder, which you can find in the following location:

FSX/P3D root\scenery\world\scenery
