On take-off and landing I cannot see center runway lines. Also, the take-off point is so black with simulated tire skid marks that I barely can see the runway at all. Any ideas?

Only thing I can think of is that your monitor and/or gfx card brightness and contrast settings are very low. I would recommend you remember your current settings (in case you want to reset later) and try increasing both brighness and contrast The centerlines right by the touchdown skidmarks will never become as bright as the ones on Microsoft's default runways, but the overall markings, rest of the centerlines and runway identifiers should be quite visible.
